First Car Rental doesn’t even deserve a one star rating The worst experience ever! We rented a car and were notified that the “blocked” amount has been actioned on 29/03/2026. 10/04/2026 we logged a ticket 4979528 and were notified that the “blocked” amount will reflect in the account within 96 hours which First Car Rental confirmed with Discovery bank. Here we are 23/04/2026 and still haven’t received the “blocked” amount. Your service is pathetic. Please do not get a consultant to contact us as it has not helped this situation. If you want to reach out please do ensure it’s a Senior Manager who can resolve this. The next complaint is with the motor industry ombudsman. Clearly you cannot execute your service delivery agreements.
Discovery South Africa I am absolutely shocked at your service. I wouldn’t even want to give you a 1 star rating. My GP activated my sports injury benefit on Monday and after numerous calls between myself, Discovery & my GP, my sports benefit is still not activated. Three days later my benefit is still not activated. I’ve been with Discovery for literally my whole life & now that I’ve changed from a dependant to a main member a month ago, Discovery needs to now review my benefit which shouldn’t take longer than a day. I’m not a new member - surely your processing/review team can pick that up? Now I need to sit in pain and my GP having to constantly waste her time and follow up with you.
We purchased sliding doors for our bedroom cupboard from Leroy Merlin. Once the doors were installed, we picked up that it was overlapping. When taken up with Kandua they said it was Leroy Merlin. After such a struggle Kandua showed up to fix it. Installed and looked fine. When we got someone to install our cupboards we picked up that the cupboard sliding doors are not level. We have taken it up with Kandua and await a response. One would imagine that the first thing to check is that doors are installed level. What a joke!

I was suppose to receive my delivery 23/12 Please see below timeline, 23/12 On 'track your parcel' it state sthat it is unable to deliver. Later that afternoon it stated that the premises were closed (our offices are open until 5 pm - no one informed us that they are at our gate to open) 24/12 There is a problem with the parcel. 28/12 There is a problem with the parcel. I have called Fastway's number several times to be put on hold for 10 minutes just to have the phone dropped again. Pathetic!
Defy doesn't even deserve a 1 star. We bought a Defy dishwasher from Makro 29 May 2021. We realised that the soap dispenser struggles to close. 2 June 2021 we called Makro and they advised that they'll log a ticket with Defy and they will contact us to arrange a date to service the dishwasher. It's been four days and no date has been given to us. Eventually someome from Defy contacted us after complaining on Facebook. The repairsman came out to check the dishwasher and said the soap dispenser cap is faulty and needs to be replaced. Same story, received no feedback from the repairsman and/or Defy. We followed up with the repairsman in June and he said they've ordered the part and it will arrive in a week. It's been a month later and still NO FEEDBACK. How many more hours do you require your clients to follow up to get feedback? Absolutely pathetic service and would not recommend anyone to buy Defy. Why in the first place is something broken on a brand new dishwasher. One would think the products get quality checked before they are sold?
