I shared the issues regarding the rust on my vehicle but Toyota Bluff is adamant that they will not assist regarding what really is bodywork problems. Definitely my last Toyota ever nor will I recommend the brand to anyone.
Prompt response to problem but I am not happy with the outcome . I am hoping Nosi Sodo will reconsider the offer.
Problem 1: In 2018 I bought a Rav4 at Edwin Swales. In March 2019 I noticed lines and paint spots on the roof. Ferdi, The dealer offered to repair a 4 month old brand new vehicle!! I insisted on another vehicle but the model was phased out. I insisted on courtesy transport because mum had stage 4 cancer and there were numerous hospital visits. Eventually in May 2019, Ferdi redid the deal and I was forced to take on increased expenses because someone was negligent at the manufacturing plant and did not check the roof properly. Had that been done, I would still have the 2018 model Rav. Conclusion: Toyota SA does not ensure that vehicles leaving the plant are in perfect condition nor do they compensate appropriately for their defective vehicles sold to customers ! Problem 2: In July 2024 we traded the 2019 Rav 4 for what was a rusted Fortuner sold as brand new at Durban North. I washed the car myself after 3 days and found rust in the engine compartment, in the petrol cap area, the chassis, mags and paint spots on the roof. Dealer Glenda Austin asked: "How did you see that?' I stand on a stepladder to wash the roof -- that's how! I asked for another vehicle- actually a valid and reasonable request on my part. She refused saying I could do as I needed. I contacted Andrew Kirby. Caxton Mabikwe was appointed to assist. Austin wanted to deduct from my deposit for the Rav licence! I asked for my Rav back because she refused to even negotiate. Caxton offered to help me make another purchase at another dealership! Really ! Another rusted brand new Toyota! Toyota SA should have insisted that the Durban North dealership give me another vehicle in perfect order but they did not. Why? Do they doubt their own manufacturing? Conclusion: Toyota SA does not believe in responsibility, accountability and quality customer care!! And with Toyota Japan recalling vehicles in recent times due to factory negligence, it is clear that Toyota SA is no better. Problem 3: Rust on both hinges and the bodywork on the back door detected March 30th. Wrote to Andrew Kirby on 1st and 7th April and 12 April 2026 as well. Lorain van Wyk called on 8th April to say they could only repair if I have a warranty. That is Toyota's accountability for poor workmanship. I cannot remember when last I saw a modern vehicle with rust, if at all. Why must the customer pay for factory defects?? And it is definitely a factory fault!!! My 21 year old VW POLO does not have a speck of rust!!!! Why?? Because of excellent products, workmanship and someone saw fit to check before the vehicle left the manufacturing plant!! I asked Toyota , in good faith, to simply repair the rust issues. But no. They can sell you the car and with it, absolutely no customer care!!! Hey Toyota customers!!! YOU PAY for OUR MISTAKES!!!!
Deaune called at 19.00 pm and was quite helpful and pleasant to interact with.
26 November purchase date. 2x20 ok Cappuccino and 5l Sunlight not in stock. 29 November SMS received stating refund on above products will be paid into my account within 5 to 20 working days. Nothing received. I emailed One Day Makro reply on 10 December regarding non refund of my money. No email reply received. 18 December I called Makro online refund. Lady stated she could not see anything about a refund. She would escalate the issue and later yesterday, someone would have contacted me regarding the matter. No one called me. The reference for the call is 5LGP. When my money is not refunded, immediately the issue of possible ***** presents itself. Is someone at Makro hoping I would forget my money and they would ***** it quietly? I am extremely upset because Makro has been a favourite store, however, this occurrence has left much doubt in my mind.
Strolling on the V and A waterfront on Heritage Day 2024 and stumbled on to this stunning museum situated in the granary/ silo. Building itself a masterpiece of engineering...art in itself. Followed by art works presented so unusually and creatively. Again.. I appreciate brilliant minds, being an educator, and these displays in this magnificent venue are mind- and life changing. South Africa and Africa... home to the most incredible pieces and creators of African art . And my South African heritage.
A 18 month pair of sneakers with 3 tears. Trying to contact Skechers SA customer care but says site can't be loaded. In comparison I have an ASICS pair which is used for running, hiking, etc. for over 5 years. No tears. Just a bit of opening up at the front. But I am so disappointed with Skechers quality and disgruntled for not being able to contact the company in SA directly. The US company sent me an email address but Im not sure if anyone will contact me. Not a single ph number for the head office in SA seems to be available. I have the original receipt and shoe box - the shoe was purchased for Edgars in Chatsworth, Durban.
Very efficient. Punctual. Understands the relationship I have with my car. I queried something. The process was done to show me what transpired. Panelbeater was recommended by my car dealership. I understand why. I'm happy that someone can actually do work properly. Many thanks to Semesh Ramklass and staff
Third time now. Twice before selfies taken while members changing in the background stark naked. On complaining message was put up and then removed. Yesterday a video call was taken while ladies changing. All naked. All gyms must ban the use of cellphones in the change room. This disregard for social etiquette continues because measures are not stringent or sufficiently punitive. Enough now. Gym is supposed to be a place of peace privacy and quiet to recuperate the mind and body, NOT trying to dodge disrespectful members on cell phones in a very private space. Take selfies or video calls in your home or outside the gym space. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the gym to provide rules and regulations to gym users and stringent measures for those who disregard these rules.
Follow up. King Price sent me an email saying that repair has been authorised with Dent Poppers in Pietermaritzburg which is approximately 80 km away from my residence. The documents are not opening so I don't know exactly what the cost is. I don't know if my excess is more than the quote or what. I specifically told Tyrrell to use the insurance company that Toyota recommend because I have a warranty and Toyota won't pay for damage, etc if an unlisted company is used. This is just a royal mess.
