Medispine King base set from Beares Boksburg in October 2024

I purchased a Medispine King mattress from Beares Boksburg in October 2024. By January 2026, the mattress had already begun sagging, and the springs/sponging on the side of the mattress were no longer upright or supportive. A complaint was logged with Beares, who referred the matter to Medispine for assessment. After waiting approximately two months, I was informed that the mattress would not be replaced because the sagging fell within the “allowed” measurement range and therefore did not qualify for replacement. I was also told that the damage to the side of the mattress was due to sitting on the edge, and that one should not sit on the side of the bed. This explanation raises serious concerns. The persone sleeping on the bed weighs approximately 30 kg below the maximum recommended weight limit for this mattress, yet she wakes up every morning with back pain due to the lack of proper support. Additionally, being told that one cannot sit on the side of a bed is unrealistic—how is one expected to get into or out of bed without sitting on the edge? Before purchasing this mattress, I owned a bed for more than 14 years without any structural problems, despite being a heavy sleeper. That bed is still in my home and remains usable. The only reason I replaced it was to upgrade to a king-size bed from Rental Buddies, beat buy ever It is extremely disappointing to purchase a mattress designed for comfort and spinal support, only for it to deteriorate significantly in just over a year. A product marketed under the name “Medispine” should not result in daily back pain. I also feel that the after-sales support from Beares has been disappointing. While there is strong effort during the sales process, the assistance during warranty or replacement requests has been inadequate. I request that this matter be reconsidered and that a fair solution be provided, as the mattress is clearly not performing as expected for its intended purpose. And will never in my lifetime support Beares or Medispine
