This review does not even deserve 1 star. Takealot are a bunch of ******* and con artists. I ordered an SSD ADATA SU680 512GB from them on 20 April 2026 which was delivered on 23 April 2026. The SSD was unpacked and installed into the PC it was going to be used in, i tried to clone the hard drive in this PC to the SSD and it immediately started giving write errors on the new drive so i removed it and immediately logged the returns a faulty item, the return was collected on Tuesday 28 April 2026. On April 30 2026 i got an email to say that my return was rejected because the item was "used" the pic i was sent was of finger prints on the item. Takealot how am i suposed to try an item without opening it or touching it??? The item is faulty so i dont see how it being "used" is an issue because it cannot be sold again. I am now R1350 out of pocket and Takealot is sending the faulty item back to me. My suggesting is to never buy from these useless thieving people. You will get ****med. Takealot is nothing like it used to be. I will be closing my account and WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN even if i get a refund or replacement SSD after this.
Mweb your support is non existent, i have been holding to help a client with a mail issue for more than an hour now. I have also been first in line for more than 30 mins of the total time. You really need to jack up your service and employ some competent people or you will become another dead South African brand in a hurry.
I have had to call on behalf of a client with regards to a mail issue but had to deal with mail guys and fibre guys. The hold times are so terrible it would be quicker to walk from Durban to their head office to log my faults. The last 3 calls have been 1+ hour hold times and staying caller number # for long periods of time. Currently caller number 2 going on 1 hour now. Is there only 1 support agent on duty???
I found a Corsair 32GB Ram kit on their shop, it stated "dispatched from our warehouse in 1 hour" it also stated "order now only 7 units left" both listings tell me that they have the items in stock. They definitely did not have stock. I went the next day after i ordered the item to collect it from their Springfield branch but the guy informed me that they dont have the stock and are still trying to source it. I asked how long that would take and he said he would have to get back to me. I called the next day to query my order and was told they still sourcing it. I requested an immediate refund and he told me to email the sales email address, which i did with no reply back from them. It was weekend so i called Monday morning to query my refund and the guy told me he has sent my details to process. I called again Tuesday (Today) and was then told that my refund will only be done on Thursday, i told him thats unacceptable and that i needed the RAM for a build for my client and they are now holding up the process of me delivering a PC to my client. I called again on Wednesday and was told I was being refunded by peach payments the gateway I used for paying for the item, they emailed and said the refund could take up to 10 days. The refund only came through on the Sunday after all the backwards and forwards. Reading some reviews of TechHut tells me this is a common issue with their business. I would stay far away from TechHut if you are looking to buy anything they sell. Rather order from a reputable supplier that doesn't lie about stock levels or that they have a warehouse with stock that can be dispatched quickly. As a first time buyer from TechHut i am not impressed at all and will never buy from them again.
I have been trying to help a client with an email issue but Mweb's customer service is non existent. I tried the call centre but they need your customer number which i provided but the OTP NEVER gets delivered to the customers phone, you cannot get past it unless you have the OTP so you get no support. I tried the live chat and have been waiting over an hour and the tech(Shumeez) still has not even begun to look into my issue. If you want internet or email rather go to another ISP as Mweb is useless AF. They have always been bad but this takes the cake of terrible service.
Im trying to help a client who has an Eaton UPS, i wanted to verify with Tarsus if they stock the battery before opening an account so as not to waste any time or resources only to find out they dont have it. The receptionist in Johannesburg even after explaining my situation told me i cant talk to anyone in sales or the Eaton product manager unless i have an account. They very clearly dont want the business so good bye Tarsus i wont be wasting my time and energy on a useless company like Tarsus.
I went to the Overport branch in the Atrium (13/02/2025) because i was unable to do an instant EFT, i spoke to the front desk lady and she told me to go to the collections department, after waiting more than 45 minutes the ladies who were working in the department were slowly finishing up with their current customers, the lady in front of me was called. Then it came to my turn and someone else's name was called, they weren't there so a different name was called. I discovered the lady at the front desk didn't bother to put me in the queue. The lady then tried to help me but initally she was telling me i have to wait 12-24 hours for DigiME to be reactivated. I was not happy with this as i needed to do an instant EFT then and there. After much deliberation and backwards and forwards she eventually called her manager and he managed to get DigiME sorted then and there. Once leaving the bank i discovered i now cannot make card transactions with my chip and pin card so i have had to call the card division to try and resolve it but so far i still cannot make payments from my card. No body in Standard Bank seemd to know what they are doing.
This has to be the worst courier i have ever dealt with, my order from my supplier was booked on Monday midday but only collected Monday evening 6:30PM, no issues there. The service is supposed to be 2 days ie. Wednesday delivery. Tuesday morning it arrived at the Durban courier facility, no driver assigned to deliver, Wednesday it was given to a driver but was not delivered, the package was then returned to the Durban facility but not arranged for delivery on Thursday, i contacted my supplier to find out why it was not delivered. They apologized and tried to contact Courier IT, the rep said he would get back to her but never did. I tried to call them myself and was told someone would call me back, no one ever did. Friday morning it was still not given to a driver so i called my supplier and she said she would escalate it as no one had come back to her. I then called Courier IT again only to be bounced around from department to department because no one could tell me what the delay was. I eventually told them i need to speak to someone in management, suddenly they started jumping and the package was then assigned a driver. Hopefully they still deliver it today but i have my doubts as it seems they don't care about their customers. This is absolutely appalling service and i will definitely not use their services again, unfortunately my supplier uses them so i may have to deal with them again indirectly. There are far better courier companies out there so my advice stay far away from Courier IT if you dont want to have extra stress in your life. If i could give a no star rating i would.
I placed an order on the 23rd and paid via EFT immediately, i knew there would be a slight delay for processing so did not check on order on 24 or 25th expecting it to have been processed by the 25th. I check my account on the 26th and the order has disappeared from my account. I call the call centre and get told it hasnt been processed because payment has not been done. I explained that payment was done same day. They ask me for proof so i send it but query why if the payment was done the order was not processed. I was told because the accountant does not come in every day or comes in late. So my order is delayed by incompetence. Absolutely shoddy service, will rather order from a competent supplier in future.
Absolutely appalling company. My clients photocopier needed a transfer belt assembly, i found the item on their website with the correct description and image as well as item code that the manufacturer has specified in the parts list, i ordered the part and the incorrect part was delivered, just the belt not the whole assembly as was described. I contacted them to rectify but that's when the stories started, firstly that the incorrect part was delivered, then that the part i ordered was not in fact an assembly but just the belt despite the description and images being of the assembly. The next excuse was to blame their supplier for providing the correct details for the listing. The item was promptly removed from their store. I asked to be refunded. After speaking to Daron regarding the refund he assured they would sort the refund ASAP because of the issue i experienced, a few days went by but i received no feedback then i got an email from Daron saying my refund would be delayed till early the next week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday came and went, no feedback, i called Daron and he said he would follow up and get back to me but never got back to me. I called him again on Friday and he said he was going to get me a proof for the payment, once again no getting back to me. Thankfully the refund eventually did come through but it has caused a huge inconvenience to me and my client. Stay far away from this *********** company, they have so many bad reviews buried in what looks like paid for positive reviews. Many people have experienced what i have been through with this useless company.
