I am extremely disappointed with the service received from Dis-Chem Pharmacies regarding a lost gift card worth R6600. I purchased the gift card on Saturday at around 10:30am. The following morning, before the card could even be used, I realised it was missing and immediately attempted to report it. I first visited the original store shortly after opening but was told they could not assist me. I then went to Dis-Chem Carlswald where I was informed that the person who could assist was on leave and unreachable. I was advised to wait until Tuesday for the call centre to open so the card could be blocked. I also sent a formal complaint email on Sunday and was promised that someone would contact me within 8 hours. To date, nobody has contacted me. After repeated calls on Tuesday morning, someone eventually took my details and promised to call me back with a way forward. Instead, I am now being told that the funds cannot be recovered — even if the card has not been used. This is completely unacceptable. Dis-Chem had an opportunity to block the gift card when I first notified them, yet there has been no urgency, no ownership and no clear assistance provided. Staff across multiple channels appear uncertain about the process and unwilling or unable to help. As a customer, I acted quickly and responsibly to report the issue before any possible misuse. Instead of support, I have experienced delays, poor communication and contradictory information. I expect Dis-Chem to: 1. Confirm whether the gift card has been used 2. Immediately block the card if it has not been used 3. Provide a reasonable resolution given that the matter was reported promptly This experience has been frustrating, stressful and highly disappointing, especially considering the amount involved.
My mother has been very sick for months now. To the point that we paid out of pocket for medication that Gems was supposed to approve. Since my 22nd gems refuses to pay my mom back her money after making us jump through several hoops to get her money back. Since the 22nd of May 2025, we have failed to get a refund, and when you call their call center, nobody knows how to assist you to the point where I was promised that a supervisor would call us back, but it's been over a month. Service-wise, this medical aid is the pits. The last communication they asked us to go back to the pharmacy that processed the medication as they alluded that it was processed as over the counter (OTC). After visiting Clicks Pharmacy, the pharmacist confirmed it was captured correctly, as the doctor's name who had prescribed the medicine was appearing on the pharmacy slip. How can one get chronic medication that you can only get with a script as over the counter like you get panado tablets
I cancelled my policy and my wife’s insurance with ABSA Idirect and ABSA activate on the 25th of October 2024. They proceeded in debuting my wife’s account and now on the 13th of November they are not willing to process both refunds. I have now paid two insurance premiums both to ABSA and my new insurance copy despite absa confirming I’m no longer covered. It’s shocking that now I’m told they can’t pick up my policy on the system, BUT WHERE IS MY MONEY!!!!
I have never experienced such ********** experience with PSG insurance, I had a Gyser issue which they said the fault wouldn’t be covered if it’s more than 10 meters away. I called two electricians after Cornel Janse van Vuuren who works for PSG had promised that I would be refunded the money paid to the electrician if the fault was on the Gyser. My electrician confirmed that the temperature was set low which resulted me in not having water. Now PSG does not want to honor their end of the agreement by refunding me what should initially be covered by them. It’s companies like these that give insurance companies a bad name by failing to honor claims, even minor claims of this nature
How annoying that impact meter services are charging me R3. 26c Kwh incl. VAT more than R1m that prescribed billing by City power. I've been querying this for the past month and I'm told they still investigating and I need to settle for what they billing me as there won't be a rebate.... There's definitely a syndicate between body corporate and these service providers
Very happy with the service I received from Ntokozo Mkhize.
Billing is very inconsistent and they never resolve a query. Received my water bill and it has increased by 454% in one month, i have been struggling to get a break down of my readings and how the 10Kjs free water that we receive from the municipality is adjusted for.
Absolutely astonished at how Discovery together with their approved Service Provider (Raven Panel beaters in Pietermaritzburg) are handling my moms claim :2859399. No one is will to take responsibility and provide updates to us regarding the progress of the cars repairs which they have had for over 45days now. My mom a 60 year old women is forced to take public transportation to work after being scammed by panel beaters when they gave her a broken temporary car that was not mechanically sound. Only picked it up when she filled fuel on the car. Disappointed with Discovery as they should take accountability for the service providers they choose. They should at least attempt to provide a courtesy car to my mom for the inconvenience
Most horrendous service that i have ever received. Clearly customer service is not what they about as long as they continue getting our claims sent to them. I am horrified about the lack of empathy, everytime you call to get an update on the progress made on your vehicle no one actually knows and their Managers are always not available. My car has been with the team for well over a month, just to fix front bumper and control arm
I spoke Ntokozo Mkhize, highly professional and speedy service he is indeed a gem. I have never received such amazing service in the past, its great that Bidvest directly handles the tyre claims process.
