I've had quite unpleasant experiences buying online from TechHut. The first time, I bought Solar PV Mounting Rails online and made the payment. I was in such a hurry that I wanted to send the courier to pick the order up instead of the free delivery because I wanted to do the installation that weekend. I then got a call saying that TechHut does not sell pv rails individually but as a kit. Mind you, I bought the rails from their website and they processed and accepted my payment for the rails, not a kit. The refund process took a while and I dismissed it as one of those things that happen maybe once in a while. Three weeks ago, I bought 2x Longi 550W solar panels, which I resorted to while I actually wanted the Longi 555W panels. TechHut was going to deliver the panels as per the order but, later in that week, I got a call saying that they don't deliver solar panels. Again, no such message was displayed when I completed the order, not even on the order confirmation email. I unfortunately had to organise my own transport. After much protest, we agreed that I'd send transport on a Friday, which turned into the next Monday. On Monday, I was the told that they couldn't get stock, which left me confused because stock was confirmed when I ordered. By the end of that week I had to cancel the order as they could not fulfill it and I requested a refund on Friday 16 January 2026. All I've been getting is promises for my refund and as of today, 26 January 2026, my refund is still not received. Mind you, this isn't my money but my customer's. These excuses don't fly with customers and TechHut couldn't be bothered by the effects of this to my reputation and that of my business. This is not right.
I bought the Grezam Men's Vitality Pack and received an order confirmation on the 27th of April 2025. To date my order has not arrived and the email I sent to [email protected] on the 15th of May and the follow up email on the 2nd of June both went unanswered. Do not buy from this supposed online merchant.
On the 18th of February 2023, I bought and paid for a Fireplace Fireproof Mat Flame Retardant Fiberglass Insulation Blanket 50 x 80cm from Snatcher.co.za, Order #243727. I never received my merchandise and after sending five (5) emails enquiries and receiving empty promises, I decided to request for a refund. After 3 more enquiries and promises of escalation to their Finance Department to settle, I still haven't been paid. If you've been lucky enough to get what you bought from them, I envy you. Not everyone has been that lucky and I've given up on every getting my money back. I hope South African authorities one day deal with these online ****mers masquerading as businesses.
In August 2022 I bought a backup kit with N Energy 48v Lithium Battery for my customer. The battery came with no wall mounting bracket and it had nicks and scratches that were blamed on the courier. I've been chasing them for the bracket since. Now, they're coming up with silly excuses like the battery doesn't come with a bracket or the product description does not mention a bracket. The battery is described as a wall mounted battery. How can it not have a mounting bracket and they're saying that now that they're failing to fulfil their promises.
I paid Solar Power Energy or Power System Energy PTY an amount of R15 495.00 for a 7.2kW Lithium-ion Solar Battery on the 27th of November 2021 that was supposedly on special on their website http://www.powersystemenergy.co.za/. I have not received my battery since and all I'm getting are excuses. I've been demanding that they refund me as it seems that they sold me a battery they don't have. A guy called Denis keeps sending me one line emails with broken English making promises he hasn't kept. Another one called Derik is also giving me excuses and has just told me that they'll deliver the battery when they receive stock despite the fact that I've demanded a refund. This is the worst service I've ever received and their refusal to refund me will be reported to the authorities.
Another excellent service from King Price, especially Zayne Pillay. Thank you very much for the swift processing of my claim and your kindness and understanding during the frustrating time, keep it up Zayne.
I bought gabion baskets from Builders Merchant. The delivered old and damaged baskets that didn't even look galvanized as claimed. The worse part is they delivered those baskets without any of the binding wires that are required when constructing the baskets. I made no less that 10 calls complaining and all I ever got from one of their guys by the name of Vincent was never ending apologies. They delayed my project by more than two weeks as a result. Upon realizing that I'm not going to receive my binding wires as I had to start the project, I demanded a refund for the binding wires as I had to make another plan to get the project going. Again, all I get from Vincent is empty promises. Frauds like these should not be allowed to operate businesses and take our hard earned money and not deliver. I'm absolutely disappointed and disgusted by these frauds.
Colorgoody.com is a fraud. I ordered the Electric Car Jack Kit for $39.98 including shipping. The websites promises delivery in 10 to 20 days. Two months later, they delivered a ****py tire repair kit I had not ordered. When I alerted them to this, they offered me a $6 refund. I refused it and told them I want what I had ordered. They haven't responded yet. How I wish I ad checked them here on Hellopeter, ****** scammers they are.
There's a guy who goes around taking people's money promising to build them nice swimming pools at competitive prices. This crook's name is Quinten Brendenkamp, his company is called QPools. This guy took a deposit from us in July 2019 promising to build us a swimming pool. After digging up our yard and leaving an unsightly hole, he demanded the next payment. Trusting him, we decided to pay him in full. He never came back. Instead, it's been stories, excuses and lies ever since. We're instituting legal proceedings against him to recover our money. STAY AWAY FROM QPOOLS, IT'S RUN BY A CROOK.
In October 2019, I bought the MISSISSIPPI 3M X 5M SWIMMING POOL from Easylife Pools in Durban. In addition to the standard fitting that come with it, I added a swimming pool light and all was delivered on time. The swimming pool was installed by a qualified and experienced installer, including the electrical connections for the pool light. The light has never worked and I've sent Easylife Pools multiple emails, made numerous phone calls to no avail. The lady I've been talking to on the phone and sending her emails keeps making promises that they don't keep. She first suggested that the pool light was not wired correctly and I assured her that all the work on this pool was done by experienced professionals who install swimming pools all the time. She's been promising to forward me a wiring diagram that is supposed to show how to connect the pool light. I just don't buy this excuse and I want them to admit that they sold me a faulty pool light and exchange it, that's all.
