As regular guests, we have stayed here multiple times and have let many issues slide in the past, but this recent stay was completely unacceptable. From day one, the treatment from staff was disrespectful. A security guard was rude when we tried to park in a disabled parking bay, despite having a disability sign clearly displayed and a person with a visible disability in the car. We explained the situation, including that the sign had been damaged by the car wash at Emperors Palace, yet he still refused to assist. His response of “so go and complain” was shocking and gives the impression that staff feel they are not held accountable for the way they treat customers. Housekeeping was equally poor. One of the cleaning ladies was exceptionally rude, and we had to ask multiple times for basic necessities like toilet paper and tissues. The rooms were not cleaned properly at all — sticky floors, dusty counters, filthy cups, and dirty towels left behind. This is far below the standard expected from a hotel of this calibre. The maintenance issues were just as bad. The WiFi was horrible and dropped constantly throughout our stay. The drains were clogged, which we reported, and the showers and bathrooms had a terrible smell. To make matters worse, on the second last day, three of our rooms flooded. We were moved to other rooms, but there were no porters available to help us with our luggage and belongings. Staff had to call someone in from another hotel, which only added to the inconvenience. The way this incident was handled was unacceptable. A lady, who was initially presented as the manager, was rude, condescending, and accusatory. She later contradicted this by saying she was not the manager. Instead of taking responsibility for the hotel’s obvious maintenance failures, she attempted to blame us and told us to expect an incident report. Her tone and attitude were completely inappropriate. We were inconvenienced, yet she did not apologise. On top of everything else, there was also an insect and pest problem in the rooms. What is most concerning is that during a busy Easter weekend, there appeared to be no management available at the hotel to properly assist guests with serious issues. Do not expect management support if something goes wrong. There are already multiple reviews online mentioning clogged drains and similar maintenance issues, which suggests this is an ongoing problem that the hotel has failed to address. Rather than taking accountability, it feels like staff are more interested in shifting blame. Emperors Palace seriously needs to train its hotel staff to treat customers with respect and urgently address the maintenance and hygiene issues at this property. This experience was unacceptable on every level, and as regulars, we are extremely disappointed and want answers.

Would not recommend this place at all. Drove 3 hours to get there as we decided to visit this place. The place is absolutely **********. Let's start with the toilets. Filthy and smelling of urine with the toilet pans messed and not a cleaner in site. Restaurant was another story altogether which a review will be posted separately for but disastrous aswel. Then the security at the casino entrance seems to lock onto certain people only and stare at you like you a ******** while he lets others by. Now to the actual slots they have. You would have better luck trying to find coins on the street than putting money into their slots and hoping to win anything. Max bet any bet absolutely nothing. Very hard to recommend a place that has no cleanliness and uninterested staff plus where you have very little chance of coming away with anything when playing their slots. Sorry Umfolozi but we rather stick to other places than waste the time driving to you.

I made a booking today, paid for the booking and have yet to receive a confirmation email. I was on the phone for 1 hour trying to speak to a consultant about this and no answer. I sent multiples emails and still no reply. Money has gone off my account for this booking. When I go back to the history it's asking me to pay again. This is terrible customer service.

I made a booking today, paid for the booking and have yet to receive a confirmation email. I was on the phone for 1 hour trying to speak to a consultant about this and no answer. I sent multiples emails and still no reply. Money has gone off my account for this booking. When I go back to the history it's asking me to pay again. This is terrible customer service.

I am currently booked in at this emperor's casino Mondior hotel,I came from the casino to my room wanted to watch TV the TV does not work,tried calling the assist line but people pick up the phone sleepy voice and then drop it,then I get hold of the reception the lady is rude and then I wait for almost 2 hours and still nobody answers the assist line or assisted me,pathetic service and their staff instead of being at service for the guest they are sleeping...will never come back to this dump.

I been having issues getting my card i keep getting told my name is flagged and I even got banned without any right of admission. I had reported a few incidents i experienced funds missing and winnings never paid out. I waited patiently for my banishment to end which was labeled as self exclusion, but I never said I never self-excluded myself. They allow me in the premises but can't give me a reason to why they can't issue my winners circle card. Even when they call Mmabatho Palms no answers are supp****. I been going up and down but still no answers. I also have evidence of machines displaying in dollars . I have all proof I been patient but I feel they not being honest nor are they respecting my rights.
