I refer to my vehicle delivered on 27 February 2026, and the ongoing defects previously reported. The vehicle was returned to Santon Chery workshop on the 8 April 2026 for investigation and repair of the following issues: Engine knocking sound on cold start (Video submitted) Noise of the starter (Video submitted) Persistent door rubber noise (Video submitted) Wind noise at the driver side door (Video submitted) Rattle on the dashboard (Video submitted) I was only contacted on the 16 April 2026 and informed that the engine knocking sound was finally heard when the vehicle was started the previous day, but I was only bravely. This confirms the existence of the defect that I have consistently reported with video footage supp****. It is unacceptable that it took this length of time to acknowledge a fault on a brand-new vehicle. Furthermore, despite the vehicle being in Digi cars possession, the defects remain unresolved. The door rubber issue and the rest of the issues have not been rectified, and no clear resolution has been provided regarding the engine concern, and I certainly don’t except a new vehicle with only 5 000km with a engine that was opened. This situation reflects both a defective product and an unreasonable delay in repair, which has completely eroded my trust in the vehicle and the dealership. In terms of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, specifically Section 55 and 56, I am entitled to goods that are of good quality, free of defects, and durable. Where a supplier fails to repair defects within a reasonable time, or where defects persist, the consumer is entitled to reject the goods. I therefore hereby formally and unequivocally reject the vehicle and demand immediate action from the OEM! Please take notice that I have lost all confidence in the vehicle and will not accept further repair attempts. I lost total confidence in the Omoda product and if I don't receive written confirmation within 5 business days, I will proceed to escalate this matter without further notice to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa, the National Consumer Commission, and pursue all available legal remedies. My ****her bought a brand new Omoda C7 from Omoda Melrose Arch on the 27th of Feb 2026. Since taking delivery on the 27th of Feb 2026 his BRAND NEW Omoda C7 is now back in the workshop for a 2nd time. 2nd time running 3 weeks now. The dealership does not care at all. As per section 58 of the CPA my father has the right to choose between repair, cancellation or refund. My father wants to cancel the deal, but Omoda SA is just not attending to the matter. ABSOLUTELY LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN OMODA. Next step Ombudsman.
