Mo-zam-bik Restaurant
Based on recent customer reviews, Mo-zam-bik Restaurant receives polarised feedback across its branches. Loyal patrons consistently celebrate memorable dining moments, fresh flavourful dishes, and attentive service at locations like Gateway and Cavendish. However, a recurring theme is dissatisfaction tied to long waits, cold or dry food, and inconsistent drink preparation. Customers frequently mention concerns over staff conduct, including argumentative waiters and poor management oversight. Hygiene issues at premium branches and stock shortages during specials further dampen the experience, suggesting service standards vary noticeably between outlets.

Ate lunch at Mozambik Athlone - the Mozambik in Umhlanga allows half veg half chips for side while the Athlone restaurant does not. Only one side- manager very firm and unyielding

Sundays Are For *****s. My boyfriend and i took a drive to gateway to grab lunch and we stopped at our ultimate favorite restaurant of all time.. Mozambik Gateway. The food always is so fresh, well prepared and delicious i was starving. We ordered our usual starters and mains that we usually have. And the taste and presentation is still the same. P.S my boyfriend and i had our first date at this restaurant when we first met😊So that's why its always special to us❤ #HelloPeterDreamDate

At least, all i can say is im disgusted and disappointed, i always visit the branch at the pearls because my son enjoys the play area. Whilst eating we noticed small cocroachs on our table and the wooden wall next to us. Tiny cocroachs were also running around on the centre bar counter. We immediately stopped dining and asked for a takeaway, and went outside to the play area. Its disappointing as this is one of your exclusive and high end branches. The pearls prices are higher than the other stores, but i still come to your branch, this time around it was by far my worst experience. Your branch should be the cleanest and most well maintained, but thats not what ive experienced, absolutely disappointing. I wil not be visiting your branch anymore and i will put it out there aswell so others are aware.

We had a very disappointing experience at Mozambik Restaurant in Mossel Bay on the 21/12/2025. Despite waiting around 30 minutes for our food, it was served cold. This was especially frustrating as we are regular customers and expect a better standard. Unfortunately, this visit fell far below what we’ve come to expect from the restaurant.

This has to be one of the worst meals I have had for a long time. Two of us ordered the line fish, that we were told was Dorado. I have serious doubts it was. In any event when the meal arrived the pieces of fish were perhaps a centimetre/ 3/8 of an inch thick, dry and smothered in 'butter and lemon'. That certainly is not how you would serve any fish let alone Dorado. Both of us left at least half of the meal. One of our party ordered half a chicken, which really did not look like it was half the chicken, however that was probably fortunate as it was dry and really overcooked. Another of the party ordered calamari which was served in some sort of a sauce. It too was terrible and she left at least 80% of it. The oyster shots were, I suppose acceptable. On the positive side the meat platter for two was good. Before I forget the chips were good as was the bottled chilli sauce. What a pity, this really used to be a good restaurant.
