Mintys Tyres - Scratched my rim and didn't balance tyre properly
Mintys Tyres Umhlanga Good - Neat place with friendly staff. Bad - May have been my bad luck, but I visited them about 2 weeks ago for 2 tyres. Unfortunately when I got home I noticed that they scratched 1 rim, about a 20cm long scratch on the edge. I did see the guys gathered around the machine at one point as it seemed something broke, didn't realize it was my rim and the machine had scratched it. They obviously noticed but didn't say anything. Too top it off, since I use side roads to work, I only realised on the weekend that they didn't even balance the wheels correctly. Got them re-balanced properly at Hi-Q. Quite disappointed with the overall experience. Wasn't going to post this, but you rather double the workmanship.

Waiting Area Mintys Vereeniging
Concern Regarding Waiting Area Conditions – Vereeniging Branch Good day, I would like to formally place on record that I fitted four new tyres at Minties Tyres, Vereeniging. During the time spent in the designated waiting area, there was no fan or adequate ventilation, and the heat levels inside the area were excessive. The conditions became uncomfortable to the extent that I was required to move outside temporarily in order to get fresh air and ventilation. I raise this concern for management’s attention, as the waiting area conditions may affect customer comfort and health, particularly during hot weather. Kind regards, Pieter Breedt If you’d like, I can: Make it stronger (implying expectation of corrective action) Add a recommendation (fan, ventilation, air-conditioning) Adjust it for head office escalation Just say the word.

Great Experience at Mintys Newtown – Highly Recommended
I had a really great experience buying tyres from Mintys Newtown, and I want to give a special mention to Gerald, who looked after me throughout the whole process. From the moment I arrived, Gerald was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to explain the different tyre options, answered all my questions clearly, and made sure I was getting the right tyres for my car rather than just the most expensive option. Nexen is ***
Just went for balancing and found my tyres were also cracking , strange thing though, this was a 2019 batch, I got nexen tyres on the same car from 2017 which are fine. So seems like nexen has gone *** with its quality stay away!

Defective tyres from Mintys
Purchased a new set of Nexen tyres which turned out to have defects and Mintys in Cresta refuse to refund or exchange them. After 3 attempts at balancing with Mintys, the tyres were taken to another tyre franchise with specialised RoadForce equipment (at my expense) to confirm that the tyres indeed had manufacturing defects and were hopping. Firstly, Minty’s does not have the same equipment to test tyres professionally and constantly blame the wheels and car instead. They also rely on subjective drive tests to send a customer away and waste time, instead of acknowledging the fault - which has been objectively pointed out by the specialised equipment already. The tyres can also clearly be seen hopping on the balancing machine, which they refuse to acknowledge as an issue. Their response is to come in yet again, do the balancing yet again, drive (at owners expense) for some time to check and then come back! Avoid Nexen because the tyres are indeed *******. Avoid Minty's because they do not have the equipment to check tyres properly and have no concept of customer support and centricity.

I phoned them, they said I can come immediately, they have the Dunlop tyres ready AND on special
I phoned them, they said I can come immediately, they have the Dunlop tyres ready AND on special. Arrived there, the took over the vehicle and in a jiffy everything was done. I even received a 6 pack light blue RETROBAG. Swift, smooth, friendly service

I phoned them, they said I can come immediately, they have the Dunlop tyres ready AND on special. Arrived there, the took over the vehicle and in a jiffy everything was done. I even received a 6 pack light blue RETROBAG. Swift, smooth, friendly service

Highly dissatisfied customer
I fitted tyres at Minthys Midrand and went oversea, when I return after 3 weeks the front tyres were finished from outside. I was surprised because the car is used by my wife to drop kids at school and tyres can’t be finished in less than a month. I phoned Minthys and there was no one to reply as I live very far from this shop. I went to the nearest tyre fitment centre to get the vehicle checked and they found that the car was not on proper alignment hence it finished tyres from outside. I had to swap those tyres and got alignment done. When I had tyme I went to Minthys Midrand to explain what happened and the feedback I got is that when I felt like the alignment was not welldone I should have cameback after 3 days. Now I have to buy again tyres because of the poor work done by this fitment centre

Bad experience at Mintys Bedfordview
Bad experience I received at Mintys Bedfordview, they made me pay for my old tyres and claimed they had discounted on the purchased tyres hence if I need them I have to pay them. I'm never visiting that shop again. 😠 😡 👎 #TyreShop #BadService
