We received the most terrible service, the Hospital staff is very unprofessional and rude. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this Hospital for admission. Worse part was having to wait for over 2 Hours for medication from the pharmacy after being discharged.

I'm truly disappointed with the staff at midlands hospital. They are truly playing with peoples lives. It use to be a top hospital I'm going there from the time I was in primary school & now I'm 32 years old & feel it's the next northdale hospital. I had the worst experience yesterday. I'm in highly so much of pain now because of this. I was booked in for a TL at 6am. The nurse who ever helped me on duty in the maternity ward was prepping me from a c section. Me not knowing what is going on. Thinking maybe part of the preps going into threater so she puts a pee bag on for me for no reason.hurts me terribly forcing it in. I'm in pain uncomfortable I get out the bed to stand a bit go to the bathroom. I come back into the bed she's there with d baby heart machine putting me onto it till she was almost done. I asked her what r u doing. She said checking my babys heartbeat. I asked her what baby. I'm here for a TL. Looking shocked she says omg n takes it out. Realized she's prepping the wrong patient to go give birth. Did u not read my file ? Do the nurses not take da job seriously. She comes back to take out the pee bag hurts me again. I was in so much of pain before even going into threater for my op for no reason all because she didn't take her job seriously. I now have a bad infection from it & I'm recovering from my op as well. So I go into threater dey trying to put up a drip for me. No vein it's not working. They put me off to sleep. I wake up done. With over 15 pokes purple hands arms. All over with a drip on my thumb. How do url treat patients so rough hey. I got purple cloths all over today. It's sad that we pay so much of money to go to this private hospitals to get treated so badly by the staff. I went back to my room nurses don't come check on u. Nothing no care. U took a oath but u playing with people lifes. Seriously midlands u need to up ur game. Url are gone to d dogs.

Greetings Recently, I accompanied my husband to the above-mentioned hospital. He had to have many ultrasounds, xrays and a CT scan done, ultimately resulting in admission. We was at casualty whilst all this was being done, thereafter admitted into a surgical ward. My issue is that, me being a cancer patient with several major operations, not a single person on site offered me a chair, inspite of spending 6hrs at the hospital. My ordeal left aside, I must take a second to compliment nurse Pam, kindly pardon me, I cannot remember her surname, and her colleague on their outstanding and meticulous attention to the patient, in excruciating pain. Their attitude and expertise shone brightly through our experience. On another matter, my husband's supper was personally ordered by me, however, it was not given to him. He starved all of 03/05/24, was admitted at 17H00. The procedure was performed 04/05/24 @ 08.H00. All of this, whilst being a 'privileged medical aid patient

I have never seen such a pathetic hospital ,that does not follow the correct protocols when dealing with patients . My sister has been admitted at midlands medical hospital since may 2023 ,and she was critically ill and she was not in her right senses ,she was confused due to illness, so i went to the hospital to see her and asked for the Doctor to call me regarding her condition , as i am her next of kin,but till this day im still waiting for his call. They moved her from a general ward to Icu ,she stayed there for some months and back to general ward again ,without informing us a family since my sister cant make her own decision but thats not a big fuss the Cherry on the Cake is that today on the 12 September 2023 ,they decide to transfer her to another hospital without informing any family member ,i dont know who gave them the Authority to do that because you cannot discuss such delicate information with a confused patient. So my aunt got a call from that new hospital informing us that my sister is now transferred to them ...im so furious . The doctor and the nursing Staff have no professionalism at all. If anything was to happen to my sister during the transfer who was going to take accountability for that? Theres alot thats being happening in that hospital during my sister's stay...I will never set foot in that hospital again nor will any family member of mines ...its disgusting to the core.

I'd like to start off by saying we are blessed to have a medical aid. That being said. NEVER AGAIN will any of my family be put into midlands medical center. My mother was firstly left unattended. Staff did not bother to bring her food and so my sister inlaw had to pack her some. Day two comes and my mother is sent a person to do bloods. TWENTY TWO holes in an arm and a blown out arm later AND STILL they could not get a Drip in. Eventually having to use her foot to find a vein! Now dont get me wrong I understand it sometimes takes a few times. BUT 22 needle holes it's unacceptable! My mother's procedure meant having an open wound on her bra line. She was told she would be taught how to clean and dress it. Do you know what they gave my mother to dress it!??? A blue face cloth! A flipping blue face cloth which she had to hold and keep in place the entire day while the wound was oozing and left open to any germs or disease to enter her body. Next she was supposed to receive 4 antibiotics in her Drip in a 24 hour period. SHES HAD 1! During all this time the only food she had was that of which my sister inlaw brought to her. Only in frustration and tears did she eventually ask for something. Food was brought and then she was chastised for it because it would effect her ultra sound. ONLY FOR the ultra sound people to come an hour later and take her anyway! There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. When she asked for toilet paper. A roll was brought and put onto the food tray! Now I don't know about you but several people in a hospital room touching the same roll each having different germs. IS BY NO MEANS hygienic. This is some of THEE worst care I have ever seen! Midlands WILL not see my mother, nor my family and ANYONE I can convince not to have treatment in that hell hole. Once my father went in and lost his temper. The excuse given was a half ass apology as well as the them being understaffed. Now with all do disrespect... that's not my damn problem! My parents pay loads for private care. I expect nothing major nor special treatment. But what I do expect is THE BARE MINIMUM for fellow HUMANS basic care and empathy. Trust me! That's a low bar to set. It is NOT your patients problem ypu are over worked and understaffed. It is NOT the patients job to tell YOU how to care for her wound! It is NOT acceptable to have to beg for food. And it is NOT ok that she has 21 needle marks in her arm because you don't know how to do your job! Disgusted is an understatement. Appalled only begins to describe how I feel and angry is a fun word compared to my true thoughts of midlands and their services. Please know I won't leave this here. I will share, write to and get hold of anyone I can to hear this story in order for someone else not to go through this! I HAD A 4 BYPASS CARIDA OPERATION ON THE 05TH MARCH 2021 - I WAS TREATED WITH UTMOST CARE BY ALL STAFF IN BOTH ICU AND CARDIAC WARDS . THE TEAM LEADERS PRAVIN, HARRY AND JASON WERE PROFESSIONAL AND ENSURED A HIGH DEGREE OF SERVICE TO THEIR PATIENTS. I MUST ALSO COMMEND THE SURGEON DR S NAIDOO AND CARDIOLOGIST DR SHEIN FOR THEIR EXPERTISE AND REASSURANCE - I RECOMMEND MIDLANDS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE WANTING TO FEEL TO BE LIKE AMONGST FAMILY MEMBERS

On the 10th of April 2019 at 8:30am I had an appointment with Dr T Bhika ( Gynogologist / Obstetrician ) as I had suspected I either had cysts or endometriosis. I had symptoms for quite a well and after a year it started becoming unbearable, therefore made the appointment ASAP. Now with knowing I was going to a private hospital, i knew I would definitely get answers to all the questions I have had running in my head for months and get a diagnosis. The receptionist was very friendly and polite and so was Dr T Bhika's assistant nurse. The nurse had me change and wait for Dr T Bhika in the consultation room. As this "gentlemen" walked into the room he did not introduce himself, he did not even great me. He looked at my file and then looked at me. Still not saying a word I then start explaining what problems I am experiencing and the pains and where. He then asked two questions, if I have missed periods said no, asked if pregnant said no but did just miscarry, as yesterday the 9th the day before the appointment I officially lost the pregnancy. I tried to explain that I had seen the tiny sac and the long cord attached to which he just got up and left and the nurse had come in to show me to the examination room. At this point I am waiting for him and my husband is in the waiting room,Dr T Bhika walks in and walked out,I was already in such a state from the day before and I was in a ball of nerves as to what might be found,I did not here him say to remove my underwear. He walked back in and I asked if my husband can please come in the room as to which he rudely said hurry up. I approached the nurse and asked her to please watch our kids so my husband may join me ( this lady kindly and without hesitation agreed to watch them ) as I need him and also need him to be in the room to listen. So my husband and myself come back to the room and again he does not introduce himself to my husband and rudely and loudly says go stand there. Then Dr T Bhika realised I still had my underwear on and yelled I told you to take it off. So we now start doing all the examinations which is thee only thing i can give 1 rating for as he did all relevant checks and diagnosed me and told my husband what it is he is about to do. But in between all this I am asking questions (Like any patient would, esp if you have fears of the worst) which were being ignored or just spoken over while asking. After all was done he wanted to prescribe the contraceptive pill to which I then stood my ground and said no and I know there are medications to dissolve cysts. After having to argue that I do not want the contraceptive and would like the cyst to be resolved he walks out, as he walks out I start crying as I felt like from get go I was an inconvenience to him and he just wanted me done and out and I did not know if I was going to get the help I wanted as contraceptive pills do not resolve existing cysts and it had been a long time to get this help I desperately wanted. I then go to his office for my script, as I sit down he asked if I was on any medication to which I said no thinking because it might interact if I were on other medication. That question was then followed by am I in counselling or seeing a physogolist again I say no,Now I'm really getting frustrated and upset to which he then said he suggests I see someone as there is something seriously wrong with me. I'm sorry WHAT.... then also told me stop running to a gynogologist every time you miscarry. I then got sarcastic and asked does he by any chance prescribe those types of medication ( mentally ill people ) I then took the script and paid (Cash) and left. Firstly I was NOT there because I miscarried I was there to get answers as to what in the hell was going on in my pelvic area as it was unbearable. I then started researching the two medications he prescribed which cost R600 ,the more I'm trying to research the effects it has on cysts and dissolving them and time frame and so on, I got no where. (You see, he said I had no endometriosis, the cyst has none growing on it nor signs of cancer therefore do not need it surgically removed) I then started researching the actual medication to find that both are just very high dosages of pain relief and actually harmful and can overdose on them. I have prescribed two of these non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and had to take them twice daily. One dose (tablet) daily for ten days straight is harmful and has a 95% chance of making a women sterilized. That's not my issue,my issue is spending money and time on this Dr who gave NOTHING to actually resolve the cyst which now has a chance to get worse. His treatment and way of speaking to me and what he had said in his office was HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE and all he did was diagnose me but left me walking out untreated. I was advised by a highly sort out doctor to stop the medication immediately,as I called him with my concerns after my research of these tablets and confirmed they will not resolve the issue at hand and the cyst will just continue to grow.
