Good morning, I hope you are well. I am writing to express my frustration regarding a delivery that was scheduled for 01 April between 08:00 and 18:00, which has still not arrived as of today, 02 April at 11:33am. I made arrangements to stay home the entire day to receive this delivery, but unfortunately, no one arrived. This order was specifically for my son’s birthday party taking place today at 12:00pm, and the delay has now directly impacted the event. I contacted your call centre yesterday at 5:30pm and was told the matter would be escalated, yet I have received no feedback. I have since made two additional calls this morning, only to be told that no further information is available other than the status showing “in transit.” I was also informed that no one could contact the store or courier directly, which is extremely concerning. Under normal circumstances, I would be more understanding, but this situation has resulted in my son’s birthday celebration being negatively affected. Please can you urgently advise: Where my order currently is When it will be delivered What resolution you are offering given the circumstances I would appreciate immediate feedback, as this situation is both disappointing and unacceptable.

Good day, Online O/N: OD436248258839805100 I would like to share my utter disappointment with the online shopping experience at the " Marko - Cape Gate - South Africa - Cape Town - Online" shopping. The worst online experience ever, 26 days after my purchase as below I was told they had no stock, and the date of the purchase the supplier was closed, they don't know how the purchase had gone through, plus the supplier only opens on the 8th January 2026. I can tell you all the managers that I made contact with at Marko, they don't know nothing, no customer knowledge and you should fire them all, they are there to earn a salary that's all. Online O/N: OD436248258839805100 Walmart, is this how you are investing your money? NB: The only manager that was helpful and understanding was Ms Lavona Walters. I can't tell you in words how frustrated I am currently. However, the principle of this mail is as follows: I told my 10 year old son that Father Christmas is going to deliver his gift as per his letter to Satan, you know what Satan never delivered the gift.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NB: Excuse my below language please. WHY MAKRO ****ED UP his delivery and their promise to deliver. Know my order has been cancelled, and I must wait 5 business days for my refund, Marko you have had my money for 26 days, WELL DONE!!!! I'am excited to see your response, hopefully it does not take 26 days! Thanks MARKO for messing up our holiday! AND my son still has no gift, it must be a nice feeling, but MAKRO you don't care! Zero rating! Shocking service Purchased a cantilever umbrella and realized it needed to be drilled into the ground. I requested a refund. They came to collect and emailed saying my refund would be processed. Waiting for refund and over the weekend the very same umbrella was again delivered. The Black Friday Special for Lancewood Cheddar and Gouda Mini Loaf was R89.95/kg. When I checked my slip at home I noticed that I was charged R114.95/kg. The products had to barcodes. The one showing the weight and price per kg which were correct and another barcode with no details on another side. On two loafs I was overcharged by R141.85 instead of R111.00 on the Gouda and R145.99 instead of R114.24. Total charged was R287.84 instead of R225.24. A difference of R62.59. It cost me almost R40.00 in diesel money to went back the following day. They refunded the difference without compensation. There excuse was “sorry we had a problem the cheese”. How many customers were done in by this that doesn’t even look at there till slips. This is clear negligence on Makro’s side and costing me more the go back for a refund Totally unacceptable! If i work out the price/kg now it was definitely not worth shopping at Makro.

THIS IS A REPEAT OF A PREVIOUSLY LOGGED AND IGNORED COMPLAINT!!! I am waiting for a refund on my gazebo for more than a month now, I received the credit note, they asked for my banking confirmation and still. nothing after their SLA states 5-7 business days. Today 30 May 2025 around 13:30, I went To Makro - Capegate area, to buy a vacuum cleaner. The sales person for Genesis vacuum cleaners Siphilele, told me that he will give me 10% discount if I buy that particular genesis vacuum cleaner. So I took the genesis powermax vacuum cleaner. I told him I get a 10% discount already as I am a senior citizen. He assured me that I will get the 10 % discount on top of my ususal 10% discount that I always get at Makro. At the Till I checked if I got the 10% discount and I was informed that There is NO additional 10% discount on that vacuum cleaner. I asked that they bring Siphelele to explain that he offered me the 10% discount. When he came to the till he said no he meant that because I am a senior citizen I will get a 10% discount. I told him that he is now lying. I asked for the Manager and a lady came who informed me that there must be a misunderstanding from my side as I am only entitled to the 10% senior citizen discount and no additional discount can be allowed. I told her there was no misunderstanding but that her Staff member was misleading in his sales offer to me. I asked for the 10% discount as was offered to me but it was declined by the Manageress. I have been shopping at this Makro for many years. But to have a dishonest sales person is enough to stop me from going to Makro Cape Gate again. Be very aware and alert when you go to shop at Makro Cake gate people

I contacted Marko Cape Gate on the 25th Feb and eventually got through to Keenan. He did not seem to know what was happening with the matter and said that he would investigate and give me a call back the same day by the latest 16:00pm. Today is the 26th of Feb, and I'm still waiting on his call back. I've said to him that I never received a message to state that the laptop was sent to the service provider, I only received the message on the 5th February that the laptop was booked in. ONLY YESTERDAY after I phoned him, did I receive a message saying that the laptop was sent to the service provider !!!! So Keenan was sitting with the laptop from the 5th february and did not prioritize this matter as he promised to do. Very rudely on the call Keenan said to me that JNB is not around the corner and it will take 21 days for this to be resolved. So I'm not sure now when the 21 days are starting, because he only sent the laptop to the Provider on the 26th Feb. This is shocking service , the worst service I've ever experienced from a store. So I assume the client needs to call in again, sit for at least an half an hour on the call waiting on Keenan's feedback. I want a refund on this laptop !! It is totally unacceptable that I need to struggle for more than a year back and forth with the Makro team.

In the beginning of 2024 I bought a Proline Laptop for my daughter from Makro Cape Gate. Ever since then this laptop is giving problems. I've now returned it to them for the 4th time, insisting that I need a refund on this laptop because its faulty. Keenan from the Returns department promised to take this into his own hands and ensure that this matter gets resolved asap. Since the 5th Feb 2025 when the laptop was taken back AGAIN to Makro, I did not receive any communication from Keenan up until now. Phoning several times, leaving him messages which he never returns. This is totally unacceptable Customer Service from a Senior. I have explained to Keenan and the other staff at Makro Cape Gate Returns department that this is critical and I need my refund on this laptop ASAP. My daughter is Homeschooling and did not touch her work for Jan and February because of this faulty laptop ! This is totally unacceptable that such service is received. Today 20/02/2025 I have called Marko Cape Gate Reception and again NO Manager available to assist with this matter , also no Keenan to be found. Everytime no one can be reached, I have to drive all the way from Paarl to Cape Gate only to be told, "Oh mam, we need to look into this bla bla bla" the same story all the time. They then go to the back and take their sweet time , whilst the customer is standing and waiting at the counter for them to come back. This is the worse service I've ever experienced. There is no urgency towards this case now going on for a whole YEAR.
