I took my new suit to levingers The Marc, Sandton and they damaged my suit The owner is refusing to sort out my suit. She asked for the details of the person who made the suit and gave it to her and now she is avoiding me . I’ve been a returning customer at Levingers Dry Clean & Shoe Clinic, Benmore Gardens, and my previous experiences — especially with the gentleman who used to assist with alterations — were excellent. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, there was no one at reception and I had to wait. That alone was not a problem, but the service that followed was unacceptable. When I was eventually assisted, the lady handling alterations was on a phone call and remained on the call while attending to me, including while I was in the fitting room. That was unprofessional and made the experience uncomfortable. When I asked for alterations on a jacket and skirt, I was told they were “too complicated,” but this was communicated with attitude and obvious disinterest. There was no attempt to assist, explain properly, or offer an alternative. It felt like I was being dismissed because she wanted to get back to her phone call. To make matters worse, while I was still changing, I could hear staff speaking about me in the background, saying that I wanted “complicated things” and that they were not going to do it. That was disrespectful and inappropriate. At the front desk, the receptionist’s response, “what you see is what you get,” was shocking. That is not how paying customers should be spoken to. It’s disappointing because I’ve had good service here before, but this experience was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I hope management takes this seriously.

I had them dry clean my curtains, firstly they took 2 days longer than they had communicated, secondly they ruined my curtains and took no accountability for it. I have followed up telephonically daily and no one has bothered to get back to me. I am instituting legal action against them.

Absolutely shocking experience at levingers morning side shopping Centre. They promised to compete the work in three days and when I went to collect on the third day of the work had not even begun. They then tried to rush to complete the work that morning whilst I had to make other arrangements for the items I had sent to them upon requesting a refund as they did not provide the service in the timeframe that was required they refused stating that because they had rushed to compete the work that it was done. I would avoid this brand like the absolute plague their prices are extremely high and they will take advantage of you I have not been to one branch that has ever provided a professional service or at a reasonable price. This will be the very last time I used their service and I am considering legal action against them for not refunding me.

I had to return twice to get buttons on a pair of Jeans repaired. The first time the buttons did not align to the button holes. The second time the buttons did not line up on the fabric. I have now withdrawn the pants and will have to go somewhere else. They have the cheek to ask for payment up front and then did not want to refund immediately The staff were unfriendly and unprofessional Definitely do not recommend them

Most unsatisfactory service! And after service even worse. They dyed two very expensive shirts of my son’s! They came back beautifully wrapped as thought they were happy with the final result. Luckily I opened them to discover the dying was nothing short of atrocious! They will never be able to be worn again. I complained and they said that the shirts were scottguarded and were going to take responsibility! At no stage when I paid my R900 was there a disclaimer that if the shirts were scottguarded then they woukd not take responsibility! The shirts were bought in the uk and so I have no way of finding out!!! Anyway who the hell scottguards shirts. I cannot get the women owner to get back to me!! I have been in and phoned so many times and nothing. Chatting to friends and three other people also had very unsatisfactory service from them. I went there because I thought they had a very good reputation! Never ever again!

Absolutely appalling. I handed in a pair of limited edition Converse shoes in November 2024 for repair of soles. They were not worn through, the soles were separating from the sides, likely could've been repaired with glue. I followed up numerous times, no feedback, no return calls, in spite being assured on calls and in personal visits to the store that somebody would contact me. Nothing. 2025 rolls around, I finally start following up again, and get told they are done. They removed the original toe caps, and replaced the entire outer area and toe caps with a white painted pleather. They cracked by looking at them. I said I wasn't happy and requested they replace with the proper rubberised to caps. Many more months go by, further promises of updates, with none received, more store visits by myself, until eventually an area manager got in touch and escalated it. She advised my shoes were now repaired properly, and I could collect. Their version of "repaired" looks like a backyard alley shoe manufacturer made a pair of knock off shoes, fed them to a dog, and then cleaned them up to hand over for use. Beyond disgusted at my wasted time, effort, and money. Instead of being upfront and advising me they could not do the job and me finding an alternative specialist, I now have a ruined pair of Converse and am over R700 out of pocket, not to mention my wasted time, energy, and petrol.
