I’ve been a returning customer at Levingers Dry Clean & Shoe Clinic, Benmore Gardens, and my previous experiences — especially with the gentleman who used to assist with alterations — were excellent. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing.
When I arrived, there was no one at reception and I had to wait. That alone was not a problem, but the service that followed was unacceptable. When I was eventually assisted, the lady handling alterations was on a phone call and remained on the call while attending to me, including while I was in the fitting room. That was unprofessional and made the experience uncomfortable.
When I asked for alterations on a jacket and skirt, I was told they were “too complicated,” but this was communicated with attitude and obvious disinterest. There was no attempt to assist, explain properly, or offer an alternative. It felt like I was being dismissed because she wanted to get back to her phone call.
To make matters worse, while I was still changing, I could hear staff speaking about me in the background, saying that I wanted “complicated things” and that they were not going to do it. That was disrespectful and inappropriate.
At the front desk, the receptionist’s response, “what you see is what you get,” was shocking. That is not how paying customers should be spoken to.
It’s disappointing because I’ve had good service here before, but this experience was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I hope management takes this seriously.
