I purchased Lacoste sneakers from the official online store (Order #23130). Within approximately 6 months, the sole started separating due to what is clearly a manufacturing defect (glue failure). I reported the issue on 4 October and followed up, but I have still not received a proper resolution. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this directly with Lacoste customer service, the matter remains unresolved months later. As a paying customer, I expected better product quality and after-sales support from a premium brand. I am now forced to escalate this issue further due to the lack of response and resolution. I am requesting either a replacement or refund in line with consumer protection standards in South Africa.

I had a terrible experience @Lacoste Canal walk, the customer service the STORE MANAGER gave me was 0/10 for a premium brand like Lacoste, I am genuinely disappointed especially being treated like that by a management member, Lacoste needs to do better with their staff members especially management because they don’t know what they are doing. Her name is Conisha

I was racially profiled in the Canal Walk store based on a trainee's error. I went into the store with my wife and saw a sneaker I liked and was verbally given the price by the apprentice in store, my wife and I were looking at the sneaker and my wife offered to purchase it for me alongside some other goodies she had her eye on in store. My wife eventually gets to the till to make payment however the items are priced far higher than she expected, almost R2000 more. My wife gestures to me to come over and confirm if all is in order to my surprise the sneaker is R2000+ more than what was verbally discussed with the trainee. I asked the trainee did he make an error or what may have happened as there is a clear miscommunication transpiring here. He got defensive rolled his eyes and started causing a scene in the store. My explanation to the apprentice, firstly, was that I would purchase the items, secondly is that he should make sure in future when verbalizing prices to a customer, as I was in his position a few years ago making the same error as an apprentice but my attitude was very different which secured my job irrespective of my failure. The apprentice then started making racial remarks regarding affordability and threatened us to leave store before he calls the security. I demanded at leas his or his managers name but was ushered out of the store in a haste. I left the store baffled and actually left the mall all together. I contacted the Lacost head office via email and the Canal Walk enquiries address to try gain some resolve to this and it is now almost a month later and neither Canal Walk as a mall nor Lacost have made any reparations. The liaison for Lacost has been mitigating the circumstances by requesting to call me at the most random of times or blaming the delay on internal investigations. Are we as South Africans judged based on the colour of our skin and how much we can afford when we step into retail establishments?

Terrible service received at Lacoste Sandton city. I bought a sneaker and it was tight 20 minutes later I came to change it. The manager was rude and didn’t want to assist. They didn’t have the size and refused to refund me or give me a credit note. When I bought the sneaker as per the consumer protection act they didn’t inform me about a no exchange policy, the manager is so rude.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the sneakers I purchased for R3 000 at Lacoste, Mall of Africa. I have only worn them twice in less than a month and they are already damaged. When I returned the sneakers to the store, I was asked if I had washed them. I explained that I didn’t but they came into contact with water once while I was in Cape Town during my first wear. However, the shoes already had dents before the water exposure. Despite this, the store refused an exchange, blaming the issue on water damage. It is unreasonable to expect that sneakers marketed as “premium leather” cannot withstand even light contact with water. Does this mean I cannot wear them if it rains? For a pair of sneakers worth R3 000, the quality is shockingly poor and does not match the premium image the brand portrays. I feel completely let down as a customer, and I believe the product is not fit for purpose. I request that Lacoste review this matter fairly and provide a proper resolution, either through an exchange or refund.
