I purchased Lacoste sneakers from the official online store (Order #23130). Within approximately 6 months, the sole started separating due to what is clearly a manufacturing defect (glue failure). I reported the issue on 4 October and followed up, but I have still not received a proper resolution. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this directly with Lacoste customer service, the matter remains unresolved months later. As a paying customer, I expected better product quality and after-sales support from a premium brand. I am now forced to escalate this issue further due to the lack of response and resolution. I am requesting either a replacement or refund in line with consumer protection standards in South Africa.

Hi Yolandi Botha Thank you for your response regarding the shrinkage issue with my fleece sweatshirt. As a long-standing client who has spent over R100,000 at your store, I am disappointed by the decision not to offer an exchange. While you note that a 2–3% shrinkage is considered acceptable industry-wide, this was never communicated at the point of sale, on product tags, or in-store signage. For a premium brand, this lack of disclosure is concerning. The garment was washed according to the care instructions, and the shrinkage is clearly more than what I would consider acceptable for a product of this standard — especially after less than two weeks of ownership. This raises questions about fit-for-purpose expectations under the Consumer Protection Act, which requires goods to be of good quality and free from defects for a reasonable time after purchase. Additionally, I would like to point out that: • There has been no physical measurement or verification shared with me to prove that the shrinkage falls within your claimed tolerance. • The term “industry standard” is being used without supporting evidence, which is not sufficient to deny a valid return on a relatively new item. I am formally requesting a refund or a replacement, and I urge Lacoste to reconsider this matter in line with your brand’s reputation, the value of loyal customers, and applicable consumer protections. I look forward to a prompt and fair resolution.

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with the delivery experience related to my recent order. While I have always associated Lacoste with quality and reliability, the service provided by your courier partner, RAM Couriers, has been extremely poor and it has unfortunately *****ed the overall shopping experience. Despite receiving a notification that my parcel was out for delivery, no one arrived, and I received a misleading email stating that delivery was attempted and I was unreachable. That is simply not true no one called me, and I had made arrangements to be available the entire day. After multiple calls and considerable frustration, I was eventually told that the parcel had been misrouted. I was further informed it was in Randburg, yet no effort was made to get it to Illovo, which is close by. This kind of delay, coupled with dishonesty and lack of accountability, is unacceptable especially when coming from a brand like Lacoste. I chose to shop directly with Lacoste expecting a premium experience, but the delivery service has been the complete opposite. I urge you to reassess the courier partners you work with, as they are a direct reflection of your brand and right now, they’re doing significant damage to your customer experience.

Purchased a pair of “leather” shoes. Past experience led me to believe it is quality products albeit expensive. Leather started peeling off after my second time wearing the shoes. I tried contacting the national branch - no response, customer service emails were ignored. Two months later I finally spoke to someone requesting a supervisor to speak to, response was; “I’m the manager” but consultant refused to give me his name. They sent a courier to collect the shoes for assessment but concluded it as user damage where it is clearly a factory issue. Unfortunate that the once luxury brand has declined to such a state.

I bought a shoe from Lacoste Century city and worn it twice, the second time the shoe started purging from the front and it had a whole in it , when i got to the store , the person who assisted me told me that he only expected the shoe to be damaged on the stitch and that this was done deliberately and told me that they will take it to Gauteng for inspection and they will send communication the following week. Nothing was conmunicated and i called them after 3 full weeks and they didnt pick up the phone for two days and they picked up on the 3rd day and I was told the shoe was still at the back and the manager has been on leave and will be back today. I called them again today and I was told that the shoe was rejected which means that the shoe never made it to Gauteng then no one did proper check to see if the shoe has no issue. i was just made a fool after spending more than 2K and not getting proper communication on their poorly manufactured shoe and when we compared the shoe to the one at home , the leather quality was not the same.

Confirmation Message *Business Name:* Lacoste *Rating:* 1 out of 5 *Review:* We bought a sneaker, however the size was small which required an exchange, we then took the sneaker back to the Lacoste Eastgate mall for exchange, but we were met with rude and hostile lady citing that Lacoste doesn't exchange items that were bought on sale.
