I'm very disappointed in the service I received from a consultant who assisted with my application. Named Philani Zulu under Hippo. The consultant is very unprofessional. He doesn't listen to instructions and he captures his own thing coz all that's in his mind is only getting a sale. He promised to call me back when I communicate with him via email. Incorrect debit date Dependants not captured in the medical certificate All I want is to make sure my application is cancelled. I don't want it anymore.. I trusted discovery flexi plus as a good choice. Im super disappointed

What a load of hogwash this medical insurance is. Started 2 years ago with the aim of covering chroni c medication, bloodtests and eyecare. Started with R500 a month, they upped the fee to R900 without much explanation. I still had to pay R500 for meds because...they do not cover...blah blah...and went for blood, and they rejected...after I had to go through all redtape and forms. Steer away from this insurance.....far away

Flexicare is the worst. They cover absolutely nothing. The doctors are rude and they dont cover your medication. And when you want to cancel you get no response from them but they are fast to debit your money for a service that is the worst ever. I would not recommend Flexicare to anyone. Its better to pay for your medication and doctors yourself at least then you will receive assistance.

I am very disappointed in Flexicare. They deducted for 2 months and I canceled the services but now they tell me I can't get a refund because the 2 months they deducted is to keep the service open. I didn't even make use of any services but I have to lose over R1600. I don't think they are fair this is not what they tell you when they call to sign you up. The lady said she will email my documents and then I can go through everything and see the doctors I can use but I am still waiting for the email. Called then they say they can't give me a answer because they are only working at the call center.

I opened the medical insurance in April 2026 , and the guy I spoke to reassured me that the medical insurance covers illness hospitalization if I were to get sick or any of my dependents. I made it clear that I want in hospitalization because I have a daughter who is still small. And he reassured me that everything is good and the nearest hospital I can go to is netcare Newmarket little did I know I would be turned away when I needed help most. I have an underlying heart condition which I found out about yesterday and if not taken care of the worst will happen, I was told to go to a state hospital because my cover doesnt cater for illness hospitalization as well as admissions , I asked the agent twice whether it offered hospitalization and he agreed. I do not know who to speak to but I need this attended to ASAP. The procedure costs at hospital want R75000 up front before anything can be done to me , where will I get that money when I need assistance now!!!! And I have been paying my premiums on time , I asked to be moved to a medical aid scheme under discovery and I am not asked to wait again for waiting periods, when I need help as in like yesterday . Flexicare is of no good and shouldn't even be an option is is USELESS and its so heart breaking that sales agents mislead you so much. I want to contact discovery head office and request for the recordings which they should have on their end and I need this sorted out

THEY ARE A ****! If you are thinking of taking the Flexicare Medical Aid, please DO NOT DO IT! They lie about the offering then when you cancel the medical aid you get run around. It has been 14 days since they said they would refund me. The service is appalling, they lie about getting you on board. DO NOT TAKE THE FLEXICARE, I will post this on all my social media to warn innocent people who are getting ****med by Discovery. I have all the emails as proof of how inadequate they are.

Having been with Discovery for a number of years in the past and then joining them a year ago to discover the shocking service provided on more than one occasion... Firstly my pater was on Discovery Key Care Core Plus with added benefits... I paid over a R1000 a month for her policy alone- to discover recently that they do not even assist her with a Mammogram or Ultra-Sound , for a lump in her breast. Which can be Life-Threating. We have had Issues at the Optometrist for her and the only thing they did was pay the dentist a R250 Impression Fee. In my case - I have Discovery Key Care , with Vitality which comes to R1100 per month. I have been paying over 8 months now... I had a lump in my throat with which i woke up with one Saturday Morning, I was refused help from Alberton Netcare unless i signed an acknowledgement that i would owe the Hospital over R3000 for Admission. On top of this i went to my preferred Doctor at Ackermed in Primrose- who referred me to Life - RoseAcres Hospital in Primrose for an Ultra-Sound which I paid out of Pocket R1500 for. You pay all this money every month , for them to simply cover a consultation fee valued at R250-450 per visit limit to a number of GP visits which is Shocking ! And on top of this , They are and have not covered my Optometrist Eye Test of R780. Its the principle that that there was potentially 2 life threating injuries and in one case still is , with red tape and refusal on Discoveries end. Really poor display of Health Care.
