Fit24Gym Closed in Park Square Umhlanga and informed all members to use the Oceans Mall Fit24Gym. This was not the agreement we had. Do to work time I cannot travel to that gym. The Honest thing to do would be to give members an option. You guys have no listed email for customer support. And when I try and contact you via telephone the call drops. Stop debiting my account.

I have been a member at Fit24 Gym in Ballito for 18 months or so. In this time I have had frequent cause to bring to their attention the dismal condition of the male showers and toilets. In fact I have been to the front desk 4 times and twice spoken to the manager to request that they do something about the missing shower doors, broken mixers and missing shower heads. As of this morning 25 Feb 2026 - five out of six showers have missing or broken mixers. At least three of them have shower doors that have been broken off and never replaced and at least two are missing shower heads, one of which simply has a hole in the wall and the other has just a pipe jutting out. Unfortunately this is not the worst of the problems facing members who frequent this gym. The toilet bowls in the male change rooms are seldom, if ever, clean. This morning it was a delightful three out four toilets that were lined with traces of faecal matter; but alas it gets worse. The large toilet (which is the first cubicle on the left when you walk into the toilet area) is clearly for the use of disabled or wheelchair bound members. I occasionally use it if the other three are too unsightly. On Monday morning this week (23rd Feb 2026) I walked into this cubicle only to find a toilet that appeared to have been spray painted in what can only be described as brown goo! Toilet paper hung from the roll and lay in bits and pieces on the floor around the bowl. I reported this to one of the salesmen and to the front desk, where the manager was standing with another staff member. They assured me, as they have done so many times before, that they would "get someone to look at it". This morning (25 Feb 2026) 48 HOURS LATER - NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! I decided to take photographs of the toilets and shower area in question. Unfortunately Hello Peter does not seem to have a feature where one can attach pics. Although perhaps in the interest of not causing too much retching and vomiting I should refrain from showing it around or posting it on any social media platforms. In all my years training in gyms throughout South Africa, what I saw at Fit24 Ballito this week is the singular most disgusting thing I ever seen in a gymnasium change room. I can only imagine the horror that a disabled person would experience having to be confronted with this sight when it is their sole option to relieve themselves. In the face of numerous requests to remedy these problems the totally lack of action on the part of the Gym - speaks volumes.

Their sales practices will convince you'll "save big" as long as you pay upfront, and they're quick to tell you you can cancel at any time with a 20 day notice period - all lies. The equipment is often broken, no one is cleaning up after themselves, weights are all over the gym, often the AC doesn't work etc. Furthermore, their client service is non existent, once you sign up, forget about enquiring about your payments, etc. Stay away.

I saw Black Friday special on Facebook - R1599 for the year. I signed up at Durban North Fit24 only for it to close down 5 days later. Don’t know how to get a refund. I feel ****med.

If I could give this gym a ZERO I would! I joined Fit24 Gym on a yearly membership promotion. When I signed up, I was never told that the membership was non-refundable, nor was I provided with a contract or made aware of any specific terms. I was only given a receipt, and everything was handled casually, with no proper explanation of policies or restrictions. After attending the gym for only a few weeks, I decided to cancel due to a serious incident involving another male gym member that left me feeling unsafe and uncomfortable returning to the facility or the surrounding area. I reported this to the gym and was advised to prioritise my safety, which I did. Despite clearly explaining that my decision to cancel was based on a genuine safety concern, the gym refused to issue a refund. They later claimed that my membership was part of a “non-refundable promotion” a condition that was never disclosed when I joined. To make matters worse, they only sent me a contract long after I requested a refund. It’s unacceptable for a business to dismiss valid safety concerns, show no empathy, and still insist on keeping a customer’s full payment for a service they can no longer use. The member involved continues to attend the gym freely, while I’ve had to completely change my routine and look for another gym just to feel safe. Women’s safety in this country is never treated as a priority and when people finally start taking action, it’s often too late. This situation has shown a complete lack of transparency, accountability, and basic human decency. No one should have to go through such an experience, especially after raising legitimate safety concerns. I would not recommend this gym to anyone who values fairness, honesty, and respect and SAFETY especially if you're a woman!

Had such a terrible experience at Fit24 in Rivonia Johannesburg. I settled my membership amount a few days prior the debit order date, trying to be proactive, however, I was told that my account is now in arrears with interest accrued because “I was supposed to wait for the debit order date” and not make the EFT payment prior. What made the experience worse was how badly the situation was handled by one of the reception ladies (Thendo) who completely disregarded my recommendation as a client to make the process better, who also blatantly told me she will not grant me access to the gym, and told me that she is going for her lunch (at 16:30pm) after I asked to have my complaint escalated to the relevant persons if she was unwilling to assist. Moving forward, may all sales people kindly ensure that such disclosures are made to a client prior to signing as I have noticed that the point is to make sales as quickly as possible (without disclosing proper info), which later , prejudices the client.

Fit24 Ballito is nothing short of a pyramid scheme masquerading as a fitness center. They bait you in with misleading “special offers” that promise long-term memberships — only for those terms to magically vanish once you’ve handed over your money. One day you think you’re locked in for a year; the next, you’re told your long-term deal was somehow always short-term. It’s *****, plain and simple. The facility itself is a joke — perpetually broken equipment, poor maintenance, and staff who seem more focused on pushing shady contracts than actually running a gym. The place is falling apart while they actively **** unsuspecting members. They’ve already been hit with legal action recently, and frankly, if I weren’t tied up with other commitments, I’d be suing them myself. If you’ve been burned by them too, know you’re not alone — and you should pursue legal action if you're able. To anyone even thinking about joining: DON’T. Save yourself the time, money, and mental exhaustion. This place isn’t just a waste — it’s a trap.

The only reason why I go to the Durban North branch is because our Cadence Studio operates from there. We do get to use the facilities of the gym. I also pay extra to train with a personal trainer. There facilities are absolutely ancient and there is so many pieces of equipment that has not been working for a very long time. The aircons are ALWAYS giving problems and the bathrooms are not exactly up to scratch. I would never sign up to that gym but only go there because of Cadence.
