I outsourced her as a halaal cater for my wedding and for my floral arrangements. She asked for the venues menu and said she would try best she can to replicate it in halaal form and she charged R20 less then what the venue charged. A few hours later she drafts a quote about what would be provided. I was happy with the quote. ONE DAY before my wedding she tells me that I need to choose between chicken or lamb. I asked why, in a very calm manner, as the quote says both. The venue is also providing both and this was discussed months before. She then proceeds to tell me that she can't provide both and asks me to choose. I am now stressed because it is a day before my wedding and this is only being brought up now. I do not have funds to transfer to her immediately to make up for this. I told her she needs to look at other options because I already paid and she quoted me for this. She said she will have a look and get back to me and she never got back to me. My sister took a look at the halaal food before anyone got up to go dish and compared to the venues food, it looked like a kids plate and half empty. One piece of chicken, one baby corn and a little bit of rice. We also asked family members and they regrettably said it was disappointing. She quoted chicken thighs, lamb cutlets, served with a side of jeera rice and lamb veg. The starter she quoted stated Teriyaki Chicken & Steak Gouloush Kebabs served on a bed of Greek salad. There was no steak. For canapes, she quoted prawns in addition to other things. There were no prawns. She was also doing my flowers and quoted me for fresh flowers. The week before my wedding she kept insisting on using **** flowers, even though she quoted me on fresh flowers and I emphasized that I wanted fresh flowers. A day before my wedding she needed extra money for flower spray if I didnt want to do **** flowers, I paid. When the flowers arrived, they looked lopsided and no creativity whatsoever. Just bought at the store and thrown together in a vase.
The worst part is she tries to win your trust by divulging personal information about herself. At first it is endearing but later becomes a red flag. Please do not get conned by this women. I have also heard about her later not wanting to give refunds for for catering cancellations made 12 months in advance.
