So this doctor and his staff think they are clever.... I think I need to school them on the proper procedure when it comes to getting patients to pay their oustanding medical bills... No 1: You can't just hand over someone's account to attorneys if you did not follow correct procedure according to the NCA (National Credit Act). Secondly, If you are not able to supply evidence that a person is actually in debt with your practice then you should not revert to such actions... YOU WILL GET BURNT! Finally, school yourself on the content of both the NCA and CPA... Then we'll talk again! Your actions are boarder line ******** and against certain provisions in both these statutes!!
I've taken on larger companies than yours and needless to say.. They walked away, tail between the legs.
If you want to come after my Mother for supposedly outstanding debt, a year after the fact, without any notifications/correspondence/etc, you are planning to fail miserably and will have to present your case in court.... And this is no idle threat!
