IMPORTANT NOTE: This complaint was initiated against Debt Restruct. During the period this matter remained unresolved, the company rebranded to My Debt Hero (@mydebtherosa). The rebranding does not discharge their liability for the actions described below. I was enrolled in a debt review programme by Debt Restruct (now My Debt Hero / @mydebtherosa) without my consent. I specifically enquired about information on a phone call and was never informed I was being signed up for debt review. I have proof of this in the call transcript. Since April 2022 I have made over 52 documented requests to Debt Restruct / My Debt Hero to reverse this action. They have refused, and instead demanded I pay approximately R10,000 before they will undo the damage they caused. I should not have to pay for an ******** act committed against me. As a result: — My bank accounts and financial transactions were placed under restriction without authorisation — I was unable to pay my Capitec loan and credit card, incurring penalties and fees — My credit score has been damaged continuously — I could not access my own credit for a medical emergency — My vehicle is broken down and I am unable to obtain a bank loan because I remain flagged as "under debt review" despite my credit record reflecting good standing Steyn Coetzee Attorneys, acting on their instruction, also continued pursuing court proceedings despite being informed repeatedly of the dispute. The National Credit Regulator was contacted and provided no assistance. I am requesting that Debt Restruct / My Debt Hero (@mydebtherosa) immediately: 1. Issue the Form 17.W to cancel this debt review 2. Remove the debt review flag from my credit record 3. Reimburse all bank fees, penalties and interest incurred as a direct result of their ******** actions A company cannot rebrand away from its legal obligations. This complaint stands regardless of what name they now trade under. Reference: DRS3870 | ID: ***

I was *********ly placed under debt review by Xander Human from debt Restruct in 2022 when I only needed one loan to pay my creditors. When I discovered the truth, I immediately requested to cancel, but they refused. Later, I learned that *****ulent documents with forged signatures were submitted in my name without my consent. I need proper action and resolution as the issue remains unresolved, Despite reporting this matter to the NCR, I am still waiting for their response since August 2025, my complaint was given to Mthokozisi Dlamini who never get back to me. This conduct is *********, *****ulent, and has severely affected my credit record.

My husband and I took out loans at African Bank to build our house in the EC 6 years ago. I then ran into arrears and Debt Restruct was there to help... I never missed payments, always paid on time and didn't have issues with them until they stopped sending me statements (which after calling them more than once, they decided to send me statements monthly) but that wasn't it.... I received a statement on the 2 Sept 2025 regarding to an amount due. Last month I received a statement that advised me that I owe about R6000+- and the R5720 was debited n I was left with a R1000+- to still pay.... Now all of a sudden I was told on email sent to me with a statement saying I owe a R94000 for both accounts. I have called and sent numerous emails to these people with questions that I need answers for but I get a response to say that my query is resolved, hee like come on how can a complaint be resolved but the answers have not been provided. I am going to be sending all correspondence to my lawyers as well as I need them to sort this out n tell me what is happening because when I call the Contact Centre, the agents are rude and sarcastic, you can literally hear that they dnt have customer service skills.. I dont mind teaching them a skill or two.
