I am writing this email with deep disappointment and distress following an appalling experience I had today at your Eyethu Mall branch.
I visited the store with my two young children, aged 3 and 8, intending to dine in. Unfortunately, the store was very busy with limited seating available. I politely approached two teenagers seated at a nearby table and asked to borrow one of their chairs so that my children and I could sit at a two-seater table. They kindly agreed.
However, shortly after, a staff member (pictured below) aggressively interrupted us while sweeping the floor. Without greeting or any courtesy, she barked at me, saying, “When you're done, take that seat back!” I calmly responded by pointing out that she hadn’t greeted me, and asked whether it isn’t her responsibility to assist customers—especially those struggling to find seating.
What followed was completely unacceptable and humiliating. She began shouting at me, pointed her finger at me multiple times, and openly swore at me—loudly and in full view of her colleagues, other customers, and worst of all, my children. She claimed she could not be disciplined because she’s “the best” and that even reporting her to management would be useless because her mother is a manager. She further insulted me, calling me an “ugly *****,” and returned for a second round of verbal abuse while I stood waiting for my order.
To make matters worse, some of her colleagues witnessed the entire incident and appeared to encourage her behavior rather than intervene.
I collected my oder to another staff.
I am shocked and hurt by what transpired. No customer—especially one accompanied by young children—should ever be subjected to such degrading treatment. This employee's behavior was aggressive, vulgar, and completely unbecoming of your brand.
I demand that this matter be escalated urgently, that disciplinary action be taken, and that I receive a formal response outlining how Chicken Licken intends to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
