Went to the advanced day clinic in Boksburg. My dr sent me for an emergency dobbler on my leg for a suspected dvt. I arrived at 3pm. I was the only patient there. The receptionist advised me that the sonographer is on her way out but will hear if she can help me. She came back and told me that i should come back tomorrow at 8am. Why cant you help me with an emergency if I am the only patient there and you close at 4pm? How can you be on your way out if there is still an hour left? I was simply advised to go to arwyp or linmed if i dont want to come in tomorrow. Shocking!!!

I had an MRI and USG done by Dr Burger Radiologists at Olivedale Hospital yesterday. Very friendly and professional personnel in the reception. Especially Romeo who was extremely helpful. The only bad thing there is the amount of papers that you need to fill in with the same questions that you have to answer again and again.

On 14 March 2026, I had an emergency whereby I crushed my finger and needed to seek urgent medical care. I called Unitas hospital in centurion 4 times between times 18:16-18:24pm asking if I would be covered for treatment by my medical aid and the receptionist confirmed that yes I can come in and they will treat me. I get to the hospital and I am refused treatment. I ask for the night matron on duty who was so unhelpful and cold towards me physically seeing how swollen and blue my finger had already turned and how much pain I was in and she refused to treat me and told me she cannot help me and sent me home with no help. I was left stranded, in pain, afraid of loosing my finger and what would happen as it kept swelling by the minute. The next day I went to my gp in Jean avenue and he sent me back to the same hospital for treatment and an xray. Upon arriving at the u it’s hospital radiology department they assist me, I ask the lady assisting my in radiology if I am covered or need to pay anything and she said no it is full cover they will see to me shortly. I explained to the radiologist that I was refused treatment or to be admitted the night before and she was shocked at the fact that a hospital turned me down for treatment when I gave medical aid. A few days later the same radiology department sends me an email with an outstanding balance that I need to pay. This is absolutely disturbing!!!! The same hospital that turned me down for treatment, provides an xray the next day and then demands money from me?! After going back to my gp, he says the finger is crushed I need to go to a hospital, he prescribed no medication and did not treat my injured finger. I had to end up going to the provincial Pretoria West Hospital for treatment and they were so helpful and kind to me. The disappointing thing is that I cannot understand how Unitas/burger hospital can refuse treatment in an emergency when I am covered by my medical aid!. How is this okay and acceptable???

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Exceptional care and compassion I had a 14:00 appointment on Monday, 25 August 2025, at Burger Radiology in Arwyp, Kempton Park, after discovering a lump in my left breast on Saturday morning. Having lost my mom in 2018 after a 23-month battle with cervical cancer, my fear of any form of cancer is very real, and I subconsciously convinced myself that this was breast cancer. I first went for a mammogram, which was very uncomfortable, but the lady assisting me made me feel at home. When I saw a white lump on the screen, I immediately got emotional, believing it confirmed my worst fears. She gently reassured me that it might not be what I thought, which already helped ease my anxiety. After the mammogram, I went for a sonogram, and by this time, I was in tears, speaking to my husband. The lady performing the sonar was amazing—she explained everything clearly and reassured me that it was only a very large cyst and not cancer. I don’t think people always understand the aftereffects of past trauma, but these two ladies went above and beyond. Their professionalism, compassion, and care made an incredibly stressful experience much more bearable. I am truly grateful to them and to Burger Radiology for providing such a supportive environment.

Your are absolutely ************ shady company. On 2 separate occasions I took my mum in to have X-rays done after she fell and broke her hip. On both those occasions I paid the bill immediately out of pocket. Only to find out that your company has resubmitted both those invoices to my mums medical aid and got paid by the medical aid as well. Now in order for me to claim this money back I have to complete paperwork and get my 82 year old mum to write letters to confirm I may act on her behalf. You created the *****ulent problem. You resolve it without any effort or intervention from my side. You *******. How many other innocent people have you done this to, to enrich yourselves?
