DON'T LAY BUY FROM BIG BOY GOODWOOD
PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER LAY BUY FROM BIG BOY GOODWOOD!! I had a disastrous/ worse experience with Bigboy Goodwood. I had taken out a payment plan (Lay Buy) for a motorcycle, which had been approved. A few months later, I encountered financial difficulties and decided to cancel my purchase. I was then informed that a 20% penalty would be deducted from the 10,000 rand already paid. Stunned, I went home without canceling my order. The next day, in despair, I returned to the store. The salesman, Hilton, gave me good news: I would receive a full refund. But on the day of the refund, I only received 8,000 rand. I confronted him, even explaining that the law does not allow a deduction exceeding 1%. To get rid of me, he promised to report the matter to his superior. Since then, I have heard nothing from them. If the superior refuses to contact me, I will not hesitate to take legal action. ---‐-------‐------------------- Update 1: Following my review on their Google account, Hilton contacted me the next day asking me to delete it, claiming it threatened his job, etc. He stated that he had discussed the situation with his Boss and that the payment would be processed on Saturday, May 23. To date, I have still received nothing. He added that they could apply cancellation fees of up to 50%, implying that I was lucky to have only paid 20% (Lay Buy). It is important to note that no contract was signed, when I opted for the installment payment plan, I was not even aware of these cancellation fees. I had previously contacted Big Boy's head office for more information. I was asked two questions: 1. Did you sign a contract with them? 2. Were you aware of the cancellation fees? I had no answers to these questions, because everything had been done informally, without a contract specifying the cancellation conditions.

Poor Service
I purchased a motorbike at Roodepoort Bigboy branch on the 7th of March 2026 up until today l have not received the bike l have been asking for an update 😕 no luck and they are so rude l went and asked for a refund on the 18th of April 2026 still no money in the bank after they had said in 24hrs money will be paid back into my account.l am out of options and they are not responding to me

Poor Service

Big Boy Scooters, Worst "Investment" Ever!
I bought a secondhand Big Boy JNR 90 from Big Boy Scooters, Harvey Road in Bloemfontein. The bike has been more broken than running, from magneto issues to battery to etc. Over December 2025 (23rd to be specific), my 9 year old took the bike down the road after standing for 3 weeks because of a battery issue. 5 minutes in, the front sprocket broke in half - ok, this is a "running repair" issue. I spoke to Big Boy Bloemfontein just after New Years (Jan 2026) to please order 4 items: 1. Front Mudguard - It broke in December 2025 2. New Front Sprocket 3. New Chain (I understand you replace both sprockets and chain if one of the items break) 4. New Back Sprocket It has now been over 3 months, according to Big Boy Bloemfontein (Harvey Road), the spares are just not forthcoming. I am fairly fed up at this point, my 9 year old are disappointed every week when we follow up and there still is NO SPARES! Stay away from Big Boy, terrible investment, no after sales support!

Big boy Crossover150x

Poor product service and knowledge
I purchased a big boy rs adventure 150 in December, I received it on the Friday and Saturday on my way to work broke down on the highway with only about 20km on the clock also losing a full tank of petrol, sent it back to be repaired the very next Saturday the same thing happened, this happened on 4 occasions when eventually I insisted the bike goes to big boy head office for repairs after them having the bike for about a week they eventually sorted it out, now I am 9000km in on my scooter and was told by the dealer who done my 9000km service the clutch needs to be replaced due to long distance riding, when I purchased the scooter the dealer confirmed the distance I will be traveling is not an issue for the bike and also said the clutch and belts get check at 30 000 kms nie I get told At 9000km THE CLUCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED I also mentioned to both dealers at the 500km service and other services that there is a shudder when pulling away and they said it's nothing.

Bad service for the 3rd time
After my last bad experience with big boy when my exhaust broke and they refused to replace i gave up and just paid cash for the exhaust. Not even two months later same thing the brand new exhaust is broken. Spoke to big boy and showed them the proof of payment and what did they say sorry we cant help. *** is it with this company. How can a brand new exhaust break in less than two months and yet again u refuse to replace. Now the new excuse is did i service my bike on time did u make sure the clutch and rolers was maintained. My F#CK DO THEY THINK I AM STUPID. Maintenance of a clutch and servicing of a bike has nothing to do with the fact that the heatshield broke off and left a huge hole in the ****ler. Just because they a dealership doesnt give them the right to talk **** to there clients and think the client is dumb. Its commen sense the parts they supplying is of **** quality but they selling it at expensive prices. I have reported big boy to the ombudsman so lets see what happens now. DONT SUPPORT BIG BOY. OUR LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAT THE **** THEY SELLING. THE QUALITY IF THERE BIKES IS LIKE A DEATH TRAP ON WHEELS.
