DON'T LAY BUY FROM BIG BOY GOODWOOD

PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER LAY BUY FROM BIG BOY GOODWOOD!! I had a disastrous/ worse experience with Bigboy Goodwood. I had taken out a payment plan (Lay Buy) for a motorcycle, which had been approved. A few months later, I encountered financial difficulties and decided to cancel my purchase. I was then informed that a 20% penalty would be deducted from the 10,000 rand already paid. Stunned, I went home without canceling my order. The next day, in despair, I returned to the store. The salesman, Hilton, gave me good news: I would receive a full refund. But on the day of the refund, I only received 8,000 rand. I confronted him, even explaining that the law does not allow a deduction exceeding 1%. To get rid of me, he promised to report the matter to his superior. Since then, I have heard nothing from them. If the superior refuses to contact me, I will not hesitate to take legal action. ---‐-------‐------------------- Update 1: Following my review on their Google account, Hilton contacted me the next day asking me to delete it, claiming it threatened his job, etc. He stated that he had discussed the situation with his Boss and that the payment would be processed on Saturday, May 23. To date, I have still received nothing.

He added that they could apply cancellation fees of up to 50%, implying that I was lucky to have only paid 20% (Lay Buy). It is important to note that no contract was signed, when I opted for the installment payment plan, I was not even aware of these cancellation fees. I had previously contacted Big Boy's head office for more information. I was asked two questions: 1. Did you sign a contract with them? 2. Were you aware of the cancellation fees?

I had no answers to these questions, because everything had been done informally, without a contract specifying the cancellation conditions.
