Based on recent customer reviews, yaga.co.za is largely praised as a safe, user-friendly marketplace where the escrow payment model and responsive support build trust. However, recurring frustrations centre on buyer protection fees perceived as excessive, counterfeit listings slipping through, and disputes where sellers or buyers feel unprotected when outcomes favour the opposite party.

Based on recent customer reviews, yaga.co.za is largely praised as a user-friendly second-hand marketplace with responsive support, though concerns persist around dispute resolution fairness, counterfeit listings, and rising buyer protection fees. Sellers and buyers alike value the escrow-style payment safety, but unhappy users report support siding inconsistently in disputes and slow fund releases when buyers fail to confirm receipt.
yaga.co.za's biggest strength, according to Hellopeter's AI analysis, is Customer Service & Support. Support is widely praised as fast, friendly, and effective at resolving payment release issues, refund cancellations, and seller no-shows. Named agents like Sofya and Ulrika are celebrated, and most users report resolutions within 24 hours via email.

This is the most comfortable, secure online purchase ever on earth. It is legit especially for those who don't believe online purchase. You pay for item then Yaga team holds the money until the buyer received the parcel. After that payment are released, both parties must be trustworthy.

Yaga used to be my absolute favourite online secondhand shopping platform. I recommended it to everyone because it made thrifting feel affordable, exciting, and accessible. But ever since the buyer protection fee was introduced, the prices have honestly become too high for secondhand shopping. In many cases, items now cost the same — or even more — than buying them brand new from retailers. I’ve personally stopped shopping on the platform because the value difference just isn’t there anymore. You can also see that resellers are becoming more desperate to negotiate discounts because buyers simply aren’t purchasing the way we used to. It’s sad because Yaga genuinely had something special, and I really hope the platform finds a way to make secondhand shopping feel affordable and worthwhile again.

I have sent this email to Yaga today, just for the very same person, Ulrika to reply to it, covering for herself. No customer support at all!!! Buyers can just ***** as they please, Yaga will support them! To whom it may concern, I trust this email finds you well. I want to bring under your attention that I am truly unhappy and disappointed with the service I received from Yaga support this past 2 weeks. I have been an honest seller for one and a half years, making sure my items fit Yaga rules and criteria. I have sold a wig to this buyer, (screenshot attached). For almost 2 days she did not release the payment after receiving the item. When I finally asked her to complete the order, she accused me of the wig not being human hair, which is not true. She logged a complaint to Yaga, and I did the same. Your consultants Kaisa & Ulrika was in contact with me, demanding to sent a model number of the wig from Hair Nova (brand name) as proof that it is human hair. After explaining to them that I did not buy it directly from Hair Nova, they still insisted. On Monday, 18 May they gave me 48hrs to sent them proof or they will refund the client. I explained again that I did not purchase from Hair Nova, that the buyer also then should sent proof that it is ****. Out of anger I said they can let het then keep the money and wig, because how am I supposed to get proof from Hair Nova, if I did not purchase from them. I have private suppliers for all my items I sell in my store. They then just released the money to this buyer, without handling it correctly according to Yaga rules to let the buyer then return the item, then refund her. Even if I said let her keep it without payment, because I was upset how Yaga support takes care of the buyer, but not of the seller. You forget, without sellers, you won’t have buyers, as there won’t be anything to buy. So they still handled it unprofessionally, refunding her and letting her keep the item as well. As you can see on the screenshot, this buyer has now blocked me, not even trying to be honest and sent the item back. Keeping both the item and money, it’s clear she was out to *****. And she got away with it through your rude consultants, so she will definitely do it to more sellers. I am so disappointed, as I run 3 Yaga stores, trying to make an honest income, dealing with dishonest people, and Yaga supports them. I honestly want to make this public, so other sellers don’t have to go through this unfair treatment. Regards

Yaga is the best digital platform to have arrived in this country since Takealot. It's saving millions of objects from sitting in cupboards, garages or ending up as trash in landfills. Their app is speedy, the features are sufficient, the fees are fair, the support is fast, the delivery partner options are broad. There is no spam, no ****s. My wife is annoyed with me because I always need to bring up Yaga to my friends and family and I am the biggest advocate in the world for getting people to stop buying new. So many useful items area already out there, looking for a good home. I am so grateful the creators put in the effort to try this idea out, and to the South Africans adopting it. I wish the entire world would use Yaga.

I purchased an item and then had no response from the seller for almost 10 days. I was frustrated and irritated. I lodged a complaint via the app and was to thrilled by the service I received. They contacted the seller, my item was shipped within 12 hours, and 2 follow up courtesy messages to check if I'm happy and if they can do more! So lovely when customer service actually provides a service! Thank you.
