I Sammy Mokoena hereby like to put forward my dissatisfaction with regard to the treatment from my Toyota dealer. I agree that I bought a double cab 2,4 from them in June 2017. Unfortunately my employer who agreed to assist me to pay my car decided to terminate the contract of assisting me to pay the vehicle i.e.the Travelling Allowance. in February 2018. They took the actual monthly installment fee that was paying the vehicle. I spoke to Wesbank about the matter and I requested them to give me a three months grace period to try and engage the employer on the matter. Unfortunately within that period my name was black listed. ABSA bank was willing to loan me money to pay the outstanding fee of three months that it was outstanding but I was not assisted because I was already black listed. They needed R72 .000,00 , I told them it was too much just for a three months no payment, they then reduce it to R 55 . 000,00. [it was still too much and I could not afford. On July 10 2018, the vehicle was repossessed. They took it for auction. Now they demand R214,77.87. Now they demand from something that I do not have. I have three school children to look after and my wife is unemployed, and I am also paying a bond monthly, with other house hold demands. I only earn 15173.45, sometimes less than that.
I know I owe Toyota, but I did explain to the dealer about all my problems. My employer caused me to this mess. It was not my own mistakes not to pay Toyota or Wesbank. Now I must pay R 214, 770.87 whiles I dint have a car , residing far from my work place and down town and also no daily transport for my kids to school because I cant afford due to my lesser salary.' where will I get R214,770,87 . How much long will I pay this amount. I had no intersession so ever to owe so much. my employer dug for me this grave and Toyota berried the soil on top of me and my wife and kids, my marriage that is no longer in a good state because my wife think that I am the causes to all of this whilst if it wasn't my employer who did not give me space to complete the car first before terminating the travelling allowance I would not have been on this mess.
i am very much worried about the service provider Toyota and Wesbank because I manage to explain to them my situation and also request to give me more time not to take the car because I told them that I love this vehicle and still willing to pay my installment. So I asked them that I am still pushing my employer to bring back my travelling and I was going to continue with my monthly payments for the vehicle. I asked them to reduce the installment as per what I may afford mean while I was still battling with the employer., but that was also not considered. Others in our country are given opportunities through benefits of the doubt, but some like myself are not lucky if its by luck.
