I’m so ****ed as I type this,What nonsense??Today was my son’s 13th birthday and it turned out sour!Where do I start because I can’t even pick one good thing from the big Red Barn it’s surely Red for danger I guess. Before hand I went to view the place and I spoke to the manager responsible for the booking of venues,it was nice until we had to go for our event. We took his suggestions,he suggested platters that I’m rating a whole 0 without even thinking twice, the platters were not accurate to the number of servings they suggested, the food was awful!!,what we even ordered in the restaurant was not any better, not seasoned and dry,we started with wings and had pizza, tried burger ,tried ribs and it got worse by each order, burnt ribs ,very dry food.Lets talk of flies,I understand the area is located by the bush but I feel the staff can get candles at least to minimise that 😭.We hired a jumping castle and we were being disrespected by other clients when at our cost and we frequently had to go down to explain as the staff was probably busy to check up on us.The worst part was the castle was deflated before we were consulted and the kids were even going there and we all know how unsafe that is. Service very bad Food very very bad I am a dissatisfied client. One of the managers even said I hear you when all I was complaining about all this,no apology nothing 🙌🏻

Wanted to go for quick bite to eat. I sat at the table for ten minutes and not a single waiter came to help me, and there were about ten waiters standing less than two meters from me, not busy at all. Don’t think I will be visiting the barn again.

So apparently one has to wait almost an hour for service! Then the food tastes horrible! “Sorry we didn’t take cash” ????? Then the owner/manager has an attitude? And I must apologise because I pay with cash. Wors t experience ever. If you want to eat at the TBRB please don’t!!!!

Great venue and trail BUT if you're renting bikes, I'd suggest not to bother. Called middle of the week, was promised two medium bikes at 8am. Was called the day before my rental and was asked to confirm 1 medium at 11am. No, I answered I need 2 medium, at 8am. I later agreed to one medium and one large bike at 11am. Small sacrifice I thought (change of bike sizes and time), let's do this ride. Saturday arrives, I drive all the way out from Joburg. Get there, turns out there's one medium bike available, the large was being worked on. I waited an hour and twenty minutes before calling it a day and going home. No apologies, no nothing. You will never see me there again. Booking was a nightmare and zero regard for people's time. Pity, I did a ride a few weeks ago and enjoyed.

This past weekend I took my dog to the Irene market at Big red barn. While there, I cut my hand. I was fine with just putting a napkin on it to stop the blood. We went to the restaurant after. Admire (Manager) came to me with gloves etc on. He cleaned my hand with disinfectant and put a bandage on.
