Stellenbosch Municipality

This is clearly a municipality that does not work for its people or its rate payers. Its works for the elite, the ‘bosses’. It shows at the traffic department, it shows in the roads department, the escalating fees for rural refuse removal, rejection of certain small-scale commercial or private developments for the approval of large developments who benefit no one except developers, the municipality and incomers. And to top it off, the poor service delivery within departments, the manner of communication is poor, untrained and disgusting as if it’s not the rates and tax payer responsible for filling the municipal wallet to pay for employees who resent having to work in the first place. Everyone is done being treated like second class citizens. EVERYONE. We are all first class, EVERYONE. Smile, respect, empathy. What of the farm-worker communities who were promised land access to activate agricultural activity on municipal land which remains dormant and useless? What of ******* taxi ranks forming on private property instead of being led by the municipality for a better solution? What of roads that now carry 100s of a people a day, demanding attention by the Mayor - but NOTHING. This Municipality does not work for its people. It works for the bosses.

Stellenbosch Traffic & license Dept

I recently visited the Stellenbosch Vehicle License Department to register a business for a Business Registration Number Certificate (BRNC), process a change of vehicle ownership, and renew a vehicle license. Unfortunately, after spending four hours at the facility, I was unable to complete any of these tasks. Proof of Address Issues The proof of address I provided—a monthly invoice for a month-to-month contract—was rejected because it lacked a contract start and end date. This requirement seems unreasonable, especially for contracts that are inherently month-to-month and do not have specific dates. These documents was accepted by CIPC and SARS Vehicle Registration Complications Despite completing all necessary forms for the vehicle registration, I was informed that the application was incomplete. However, I was not provided with clear guidance on what additional information or documentation was needed, leaving me unable to proceed. License Renewal Obstacles For the license renewal, I was given an affidavit to complete and have stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths. After fulfilling this requirement, my application was still not processed, and no satisfactory explanation was provided. Staff Conduct and Service The receptionist frequently left her post, resulting in long queues. When present, she did not listen attentively to my requests. For instance, I initially asked for the BRNC application but only received it after being turned away due to the proof of address issue. Another staff member I interacted with was notably rude, further exacerbating the frustrating experience. Conclusion My experience at the Stellenbosch Vehicle License Department was highly unsatisfactory. The staff were unhelpful and unable to provide clear information, leading to a waste of time and effort. I hope the department takes immediate steps to improve their service quality and staff training to prevent similar experiences for others in the future.

Pointsmen danger.

There are no signs that caution drivers coming over the hill that there might be a traffic halt. There have been many accidents due to this in the morning. Just before Cloetesville. I have tried to contact you numerous times.

Worst DA led MunicipalityS

A report /complain were send to the above company regarding a burst watermain about 4 to 6 months ago. These guys responded about three weeks ago for repairs to this burst waterpipe but still water kept on running through our dwellings as well as the foundations of our houses, resulting in cracked walls, loose floor tiles etc, etc. We contacted the Municipality on numerous times with e-mails, as well as photos of the damages to our property as well as the damages to our houses. All response we received were reference numbers. I've since contacted my insurer and was informed that they are not responsible for the damages as it did not occur om my property ,but they will repair ,but i need to pay an astronomical excess as the leak were on the property of the Municipality. What am i suppose to do now??Can the Municipality be held responsible for the damages to my dwelling??Will i be re-emburse by the Municipality for this extra high excess i need to pay my insurer

Stellenbosch municipality julle is swak

Ek is baie teleurgestel in Stellenbosch Municipality, ek betaal elke maand my rekening en dan word my krag of afgesit of my meter word geblock, ek moet dan elke keer proof of payment stuur om dit weer te unblock. Ek het whatsapp chat wat ek graag aan die media bloot wil stel.

Municipality drags it's feet on rates refunds

I sold a vacant erf in the first half of 2022 and was obliged to pay 3 months municipal rates in advance. This resulted in a refund becoming due after transfer. It is now 8 months since the transfer was registered and the refund has STILL NOT BEEN REPAID. Conversely, my monthly account was a few days overdue at one point, this happened once over a period of over 5 years. The credit department was all over me IMMEDIATELY. They added a charge to the account for sending an email demand and threatened large interest penalties. Is it worth lodging a similar demand for interest on the unreasonably overdue refund?

Great service from Traffic Department in Stellenbosch: Ms Nosipho Mkuyana

I have had several friends complain about the efficiency of the traffic department in Stellenbosch. However, I would like to congratulate Ms Nosipho Mkuyana, on her friendly, helpful and efficient service. She helped me immediately and sorted out everything for me. Well done!
