I was involved in an accident on 07/04 at approximately 17:30 on 14th Avenue when a First Help flatbed truck allegedly lost its brakes and collided with three vehicles, including mine. During the chaos after the accident, the rest of the First Help crew arrived quickly and immediately pushed to have our vehicles loaded and taken to their storage lot. They presented documents for us to sign, explaining that the paperwork was simply to identify ownership of the vehicles. In the shock and confusion of the situation, I trusted what I was being told. After waiting nearly two months while the third-party claim was being assessed through Santam, I was informed that I am personally liable for storage and release fees on my vehicle. This is despite the fact that I did nothing to cause or contribute to the accident. I feel completely misled by the way these documents were presented at the scene. Bianca and Steve showed little concern for the people affected and seemed focused only on securing payment. Bianca was dismissive and rude throughout the process, while Steve was very quick to appear at the scene and persuade people into signing paperwork without properly explaining the consequences. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against using First Help, especially when dealing with Steve and Bianca.
