Hillstar Traffic Department

Terrible service, and terrible process.
The only reason I give Hillstar a one star rating is because I can't give it zero stars. Never in my life have I experienced such contempt from staff at a public office. Several I dealt with had zero customer care. The worst was the person dealing with the eye exam. She was abrupt, verging on rude. In addition to the above, it is mind boggling that management can't implement a new way to deal to streamline the process for customers. You arrive and have to stand outside in a long queue because every enquirer has to speak to the one and only person working on Reception. This is the same person that hands out forms, check that they are filled in correctly, and makes photocopies. Why have only one person doing this? Get other staff members to help when the queue is very long. Why not have the forms that people need available in the waiting area? One guy waited 20 minutes only to be told they didn't have the form! There are so many ways to improve the experience for customers, simply ways that would make a difference, but it seems no one has thought about the customers, as a result, nothing will ever change. At least I did encounter two staff members that were helpful, but they didn't work on Reception, the eye tests, and were cashiers.

Capitec Bank

Capitect: rigid and ***********
I have tried since March to get Capitect to implement a simple request. I was initially told by staff in the Kenilworth branch my request can't be accommodated. When I told them that other banks allow this and that I would close my account, they phoned to check if it was possible. I was told it would be done and that I would be updated. It never happened. At the beginning of May I visited the Rondebosch branch and explained my situation. The staff member there was very helpful. Again the staff member phoned. Afterwards he said it would be done in 24 hours and that I would get an SMS. This didn't happen either. Two months later and the issues was never resolved. Due to a complete failure to execute a simple administrative request, lack of communication, and rigid polices when compared to other banks, I have lost confidence in Capitec's competence and client retention efforts. I have closed my account. I did send their Client Care an email and got a standard template apology which also stated that the management team would asses and liase back. I haven't heard from them.

FNB refuses a R160 refund
I recently upgraded my FNB account. I was told by two customer services agents that I would not be charged for a new debit card. FNB charged me R160. When I spoke to staff in a branch, they said it must be reversed. I contacted FNB via the secure chat, explained the situation and the person told me they charge for new debit cards. Worse, I already have a debit card for when I had the same type of account. I told them I do not need a new debit card. Now I have two, one that expires in 2028 and one that expires in 2031. It is clear that either the branch staff or the staff dealing with secure chats do not know the policy on this. FNB is refusing the refund me the R160. They are *******. I should mention that the service I got at Rondebsoch was very good and I would happily go back there, unlike the Kenilworth branch which I an actively avoiding.
