Misleading “Once-Off” Payment Turned Into Unexpected Subscription
I used Zety to update my CV and was charged approximately R40, which I understood to be a once-off payment. To my surprise, I later noticed an additional debit of R385 from my account without any clear warning or authorization for a recurring subscription. At no point did I intentionally sign up for a monthly subscription, and the billing process was not transparent enough regarding future charges. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. I have now requested a refund and cancellation of any active subscription linked to my account. Customers should be clearly informed when they are signing up for recurring payments instead of discovering unexpected debits afterward.0 replies
