I am honestly beyond disappointed with Yoco’s service and the way they treat long-standing clients. After being a loyal client for over 5 years, operating a legitimate and established wellness business in Sandton with three physical stores, I suddenly received an email accusing my business of operating in “prohibited services/products” — which is completely false. No phone call. No proper investigation. No attempt to understand my business. Nothing. Instead, my account was immediately escalated to the “Risk Department,” and payouts on my account were stopped without warning. As a business owner, this is incredibly stressful and damaging. We employ staff, operate physical wellness centres, and have built a reputable brand in South Africa over years of hard work. What makes this even worse is the complete lack of support from Yoco’s team. Every single person I spoke to kept repeating the same scripted apology: “Sorry, but there’s nothing we can do.” That is not support. There is no accountability, no urgency, and absolutely no care for the impact this has on businesses and people’s livelihoods. For a company that markets itself as supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, this experience has shown the complete opposite. I have never experienced such poor communication and lack of professionalism from a payment provider before. Freezing payouts and falsely flagging businesses without even having a proper conversation first is unacceptable. If this is how Yoco treats loyal clients after 5 years, then I genuinely worry for other businesses using them. Extremely disappointed. Worst service experience I have ever had.
