Absolutely shocking experience with CapeRelief – I strongly advise others to avoid this company. I purchased a pair of shoes from CapeRelief because they were advertised as orthopedic shoes with arch support, roomy comfort, and ideal for people who are on their feet all day. This was the main reason for my purchase, as comfort and support were essential for me. Another factor that influenced my decision was the impression that this was a Cape Town-based company, which made me believe I was supporting a local business and that the product quality would reflect that. I later discovered that the shoes were actually shipped from China, which felt incredibly misleading. Delivery was another major disappointment. The company claimed that the parcel would be sent via The Courier Guy, yet it arrived 21 days later through an unknown courier service. As for the product itself, it is nothing like what was advertised. The shoes are made of hard plastic, are very narrow, provide no real arch support, and are extremely uncomfortable. They are as hard as stone. I wear a size 6, and even then they barely fit. To make matters worse, there is already a hole forming at the bottom of the shoe after very little use. For the price charged, this is an exorbitant amount of money for a completely subpar product. The only positive thing I can say is that the shoes do at least look pretty, but looks mean nothing when the quality is this poor. In my opinion, this company’s advertising is misleading, and I genuinely feel that other shoppers may be getting ****med. I strongly discourage anyone from ordering from CapeRelief.
This was supposed to be a dream purchase. My husband, an avid fisherman who takes meticulous care of his gear, finally had the chance to buy the Daiwa Black Widow 10ft rod (Model BWC0300-BU) after receiving a voucher from his employer. At R1100, it was a luxury—one we couldn’t otherwise afford. He treated it like gold. It was kept in its own bag, never mishandled, never dropped, and only used on five fishing trips. And then, on his birthday weekend—while casting a simple bait—the rod snapped in THREE places. No rough handling. No impact. Just casting. This is not just poor quality—it is shocking. Daiwa markets itself as a premium brand, yet this rod failed catastrophically under standard, basic use. There is no excuse for a failure like this on such a highly regarded model. The emotional damage this caused is immeasurable. This wasn’t just gear—it was a reward, a symbol of recognition, and a gift my husband cherished. To see it shatter in front of him was infuriating and heartbreaking. We will never purchase another Daiwa product again, and I strongly caution others against trusting their so-called "quality." A product that breaks under such normal use is a disgrace to the brand.
