I am extremely disappointed by the service experienced yesterday (22 May 2026). We waited close to 2 hours for the bus to arrive in Potchefstroom, after we were told it would be 45 minutes late (Departure: 18h40; Destination: Pretoria Bus Station). Keep in mind we are advised to arrive at the bus stop at least 1 hour before departure which significantly extends the wait when the bus is hours late. It was unbearably cold, just like the wait. I can sympathise with the fact that there were unforeseen difficulties with the bus but the onus should not fall on the customer. There should always be a back up plan or some sort of contingency for events like this. This bus company has been around for decades and still you do not implement any additional plans or mitigating factors for when something like this occurs. We are paying customers at the end of the day and expect good service. We would also appreciate arriving at our destinations at the time stipulated on the ticket, NOT TWO HOURS LATER. I will be forwarding this complaint to Google reviews and HelloPeter because this is extremely disappointing. Please implement back up plans i.e. rerouting buses using the same route that are on time, or standby buses etc. so this does not occur in future.
I would NOT recommend this bus to anyone!! Worst experience from any bus service considering I have travelled on all the different ones available in SA. Not only was the bus almost 2 hours late, I arrived 30 mins before the time as it stipulates that passengers/travellers should arrive at the bus stop 30 mins before the time of departure. The bus was supposed to depart at 11h05 from Sasol in Potchefstroom (N12) but departed at 13h10. Arrival time in Pretoria was supposed to be 13h40 but ended up arriving at 16h30. It is totally unacceptable that passengers/travellers are not notified or informed if there are changes. The customer care line is always receiving a large volume of calls probably because most customers are absolutely perturbed with the services they receive. Change your ways seriously...we are paying customers who would like to arrive at our destinations during the times stipulated by YOU (Intercity Xpress) on the tickets!!!
