"Do not use this company. Tech 5 Group hiked my fee by 37.55% (R799 to R1,099) with only 4 days' notice, a deliberate 'notice trap' to squeeze an extra month out of me. Technical performance is a joke. I’m seeing chronic IPC congestion and DNS resolution issues, YouTube takes 5 minutes to even start, a clear sign of over-contended bandwidth and a total failure to maintain peering at NAPAfrica. Management admitted they are refusing to trigger a 'Release Ownership' in the Openserve B2B portal just to dodge their own wholesale costs. They are holding my fiber line hostage and sabotaging my home business to protect their margins. They’ve breached the CPA and ISPA code of conduct. If you need a provider that actually understands networking and consumer law, look elsewhere. (Ref Ticket: #012917)"
Do not sign up with Rain. You will not be able to cancel your subscription. I used rain over a year ago. Once I no longer needed it, since we switched to fibre, I cancelled by off-peak unlimited subscription with them. They confirmed that it was cancelled, and I packed the sim away, assuming everything was in order. I received nothing from them until July this year, when I was contacted by a debt collection agency, for 2 unpaid invoices. I logged into my account, and had been charged for 2 months after cancellation, with nothing sent to me informing me of this. I contacted their call centre, and they acknowledged that it had been cancelled, and that there was no usage on the sim after cancellation. They credited the invoices, and I was happy thinking this was at an end. Today, I get a message from them for an overdue account. They have reactivated my account, billed me for August and September, and are now demanding payment. Contacting the call centre I was told that the account was never cancelled, and I need to pay these 2 invoices, but that they would be happy to call me back to cancel my service going forward. This has to be the most useless company I have ever dealt with. How they could possible both acknowledge that my account is cancelled and void the invoices and then turn around and tell me the account is active and I must settle is beyond me. Avoid this company at all costs, and save yourself the trouble.
