No refund as promised
I ordered a product online that turned out to be out of stock. I asked for a refund as they did not have a suitable alternative in a similar price range. I was promised this by last week Thursday but to date have not received my refund - almost two weeks and now not getting responses.

Nedbank

Selling of Client Information
It started when Mr Ralemasu app**** for a home loan with Nedbank but somehow my number was attached to his account. I received SMSs and even calls when he was in arrears and, despite me informing Nedbank over the 15 odd years that he had his home loan that my number was not his, they never resolved it. I was really happy for Mr Ralemasu when he finally paid off his home loan (I received the congratulatory SMSs) and thought this would finally stop. Nedbank then sold his information to DebtBusters and others (who now SMS me daily as Mr Ralemusa). I receive car insurance and other offers for Mr Ralemusa regularly as well. It is obvious that the number was sold by Nedbank as only they had my number incorrectly assigned to Mr Ralemusa. At least they waited until he was no longer a client I suppose but surely this is an ******* practice in terms of POPIA? I've set up my phone so that I no longer get SMS notifications due to this *******.

Bonitas Medical Fund

Managed Care Programmes limitations not advertised
The Bonitas website reflects a number of Managed Care programmes that you can access (supposedly). I tried to gain access to the Weight Management Programme but got no response to my emails. I eventually contacted the call centre only to be told that my Plan doesn't cover this. My plan is not the lowest available - it is a mid-range plan (Primary Select) but regardless, there are no indicators on the website or the brochure that I downloaded that these programmes are accessible to specific membership groups only. The concept of managing your wellness to reduce claims is something that benefits not only your membership but the profitability of the organisation in the long run which is why most medical schemes have options such as these - the concept that prevention is better than cure. But by making this only accessible to your "higher" plans, it misses the mark entirely. And is simply false advertising. By looking at your website, I might be tempted to join your medical aid (if I wasn't already a member) as this makes you more competitive in the market. Only to be told - no, not on that plan. I would have given less stars as this was really disappointing but the basics are covered hence why I rated Bonitas slightly higher - I run out of funds towards the end of every year but, in general, the medical aid covers most of our needs. But this remains a grudge purchase and I am always looking for better options. Thus, these value-adds are the kind of differentiators which help me choose between the options out there since the basic stuff is the same. The brochure for my plan actually shows all the managed care programmes but the weight management is brand new so wasn't reflecting on the brochure. So why this exclusion?

Capitec Bank

Money missing and nowhere to be found
An amount suddenly went off my account for a second time on Monday (3 weeks almost after the initial transaction). I immediately raised it with Capitec through the WhatsApp line and also went past the retailer (our local BP Petrol station). The retailer was helpful and promised to refund if the money was in their account. It wasn't so they haven't been able to pay me back. I have been back and forth with Capitec all week. Every time, I have to re-explain the issue. The agents have been shocking, not able to find the duplicate payment initially until I send them the proof of payments for both. I was emailed a statement I didn't ask for (and charged accordingly). I was told on Tuesday that it couldn't be reversed as it wasn't pending. If retailer did not return I could raise a dispute which would cost me R80 and Capitec would attempt to get the money back. I have been trying to raise this fictional dispute since then (note that everything can be screenshot from the Whatsapp chat history to show what I was told by the various agents). I was told it was being escalated yesterday only to find out that the escalation was to remove a hold on my account. WHAT HOLD? I phoned because I thought it might be better than the WhatsApp service only to be told there is nothing Capitec can do. The agent has no idea what dispute process there is. I must go the retailer. The retailer has been amazing - even sent me a letter confirming that Capitec can reverse the fee as they confirm that I did not make the transaction and they have not received the funds. There is obviously an issue in the bank systems somewhere but they simply won't take it further. The agents have been implying that the card machine was banked twice (3 weeks apart). My assumption is that this was flagged somewhere and the money is sitting in one of the bank's suspense accounts. My only recourse now will be a ***** charge and hope that the banks will take it more seriously and actually run a spin report on both ends to trace the funds.
