I have been trying to cancel my subscription with them since last year. Very frustrating because I have been paying for two tracker companies all this time.
My house was burgled two years ago. I called DSTV to cancel my prescription to no avail. Despite numerous calls over the two-year period - where every consultant that I spoke to assuring me that the prescription has been cancelled - I still received monthly statements. Whenever I asked to be transferred to cancellation, I was transferred to retention instead. If I do manage to be transferred directly to cancellation, I will either wait forever until I dropped the phone, or the call will immediately be cut off. Only this week was I told that when they upgraded the decoder, it meant that only the old decoder and subscription were cancelled and I was supposed to cancel the upgraded device separately. Nowhere does this information appear on their website. All of this has resulted in me being handed over to the Credit Bureau, which immediately impacted my score.
