I have been trying for over two weeks to access my investment tax certificate from Alexander Forbes — with no success. I’ve lost my login details and attempted to reset them, but the system refuses to accept my ID number, saying a login already exists. It won’t allow me to reset anything. I’ve sent multiple emails to various Alexander Forbes support addresses, including screenshots from my SARS return showing the tax certificate number and financial data. All I’ve received are automated responses telling me to log in — which I obviously cannot do. This is now holding up my SARS tax submission, and I am beyond frustrated. The lack of real human support is shocking for a company handling people’s investments. I urgently need someone at Alexander Forbes to either reset my login or email me the tax certificate directly — anything other than another automated message. Please resolve this immediately.
I phoned Santam regarding a geyser claim and was confronted by a useless AI voice prompting machine for about 5 minutes before I actually got to speak to someone. The lady I spoke to was pleasant and handled the initial part of me claim professionally. I explained that I still had hot water however there was noises emanating from the pipes up to the geyser and I suspected that it was possibly a valve, or something associated with the geyser the geyser had been replaced about a year ago. A plumber was dispatched, and he advised me that it was the pressure regulating valve that is faulty and that the geyser is under warranty still with Kwikot. Later Kwikot attended to the problem by cleaning the filter in the valve and implying problem solved after opening a tap. shortly after they left when I tried a tap the noises had returned. I reverted to the email correspondence received from Santam and have just had a run around. Kwikot sent a message for service feedback to which I responded that the issues have not been resolved. I don't believe they take note of their failures - only the favorable comments. (I have also posted this under Santam) Kwikot has not responded to the unresolved issue.

I would like to share my 2 experiences I have had with getWorth Cars, Richmond Park, Cape Town. In early June 2024 I saw an ad for a 2019 Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL with 88,000 km priced at R152,900. I made contact with a salesperon and was told the car was not yet in but would be in within about the next 3 days. I enquired about the on the road costs which amounted to R5,700, making the overall cost R158,600. I explained that it would be a cash deal and that I have a budget that I need to stick to and enquired that if there could be a small amount of movement on the price if I were to purchase the car. She said she would need to come back to me, which she did with a total on the road price of R156,900. I asked to see the car and she said that it had now gone to a panel shop and wouldn't be available for at least a week (red flag). The date she gave me when the vehicle would likely be ready is 13 June 2024 and she would keep me posted. 13 June came and went without any call from the sales person. I see the vehicle is currently still listed for sale (probably a lemon). My second current experience involves a 2015 Suzuki Swift 1.2 GL (the previous generation of which I am quite fond of). The vehicle was not yet in only stating the mileage and being in good condition, initially didn't list any information on service history, not even the colour. I made an enquiry and initially could not be told much about the vehicle. I was keen to find out more and persisted. I was then advised that I need to pay a R2500 holding deposit to secure the vehicle but at this stage I still couldn't see the vehicle. I was made aware that it was Grey and that it had a partial service history (red flag) I asked what services were missed and where was it last service. I later got a response that it was serviced by kilometer and not annually and would not be told who did the last service (red flag) but most of the services were done by Suzuki. I was keen to see the vehicle as I have been without a car for over a month, making do with my wife's car. I was also at this stage not able to see the vehicle but I would need to pay a holding deposit of R5,000, I enquired via messages if it was a refundable deposit if the vehicle was not purchased, these messages where ignored. I was later asked if I would like to complete an OTP (offer to purchase), by this stage I was able to see pictures of the vehicle but still not allowed to see it, even though I was told it was back on site. I agreed, thinking this would probably provide me first option on the vehicle. On receiving the OTP documentation I noted that it required a non-refundable R5,000 deposit. To me this is nothing more than a **** (maybe something for the Consumer Protection Act), let the prospective buyer see the vehicle, the vehicle could quite not meet up to expectation in terms of value for money. After initially agreeing to the OTP but before making any payment I overnight decided to withdraw my offer so as not to getScr....... I hope not to receive a lame response from getWorth, I noted a similar complaint on Hello Peter where a customer went as far as purchasing a vehicle and the frustration he had thereafter.
Good day, I would like to share my recent experience at NMI Toyota Tyger valley (pre-owned autos). I was interested in a Toyota that was advertised on Cars.co.za. I went to the dealership and was shown the car, given the keys, and allowed to inspect it thoroughly. The salesperson was very pleasant and helpful. I mentioned that I intended to trade in my present vehicle, and it was arranged for the manager to inspect it, which he did. To my astonishment, he returned a low trade-in offer (R15000) lower than other dealer trade offers. I, on the other hand, was still interested in the Toyota. To my astonishment, I was then informed that the automobile had been sold and that they are waiting for the finance approval from the bank. I was told that if the purchase was unable to obtain financing for any reason, I may be considered for the purchase of the vehicle. Almost two weeks later, I noticed the automobile was still posted on Cars.co.za. I opted to submit an application through Cars.co.za. I later received a call from Toyota Tyger valley informing me that the automobile was available. I stated that I was interested but assumed the car had been sold; I was then asked who I had dealt with and told that they would investigate and get back to me. They called back 5 minutes later and said they were waiting for finance; I said surely it doesn't take two weeks. I was then told that the intending purchaser does not have a driver's license; I agreed that banks would not finance without one. Then I was told that the person is married in community of property, and that is the issue. I inquired why the vehicle was still being advertised. I was told that it will be promoted for as long as the purchaser's financing takes for approval.
I'm writing this review to praise what they didn't do, which was sell me a car and subjecting me to buyer's remorse. This is a recent experience, and I had thought about it for a few days before deciding to write a review. I believe some may find this review helpfull. I have seen response from We Buy Cars on the platform that are fairly generic, so don't expect anything insightfull from them. I found the vehicle I was looking for (which is a discontinued model) online at the Brackenfell branch and another option at the Epping branch. The vehicle in Brackenfell was a 2019 with low mileage but without a full-service history. I informed them that I wanted to trade / sell my 2022 low mileage vehicle with full service history. While the gent from the buying department looked over my vehicle, I test drove the one I was interested in. I had prior looked at the Dekra reports for the vehicles online. the vehicle was (optimistically) rated 'A' Dekra Green. The reportr made no mention of the noticeable corrosion, but it did mention the worn front tyres that would need replacing for roadworthy. I inspected the vehicle avoiding an early emotional attachment. I noted that there was corrosion at most body joints / seams indicating that the body work was not looked after and thet the vehicle most likely spent it's life exposed to the elements. This I thought was unfortuante because mechanically it drove well and mechanically appeared in fair condition. The gent from the buying department returned a valuation on my current vehicle citing that it is in very good condtion but due to stock etc. a value approximatley 15% lower than what they are selling for second hand (even some with much higher mileage), I accepted that it is business that needs to turn a profit, however this was significantly lower than the vehile I had shown interest in. I told the salesman that I wanted to look into the other option in Epping first and then get back to him. Given the bodywork issues, I considered this vehicle in Brackenfell to be overpriced by at least R10k and dissmissed it as a viable option. The vehicle in the Epping branch of We Buy Cars was a 2017 model withdouble the mileage of the one in Brackenfell, It was reted Dekra Gold, meaning it is ready to go with no likely roadworthy issues. I examined the vehicle and noted no corrosion compared to the later 2019 model in Brackenfell. I noticed that 3 of the four head rests were missing, It had 3 different make of tyres. On the front seat was a piece of paper; it was a roadworthy inspection, which the vehicle had failed. I noted several highlighted failed items, but the salesman quickly removed the paper from me and he explained that he had taken for the inspection and it was only due to a missing wheel nut that he pointed out to me. He was nice enough, but I said I wouldn't bother taking the vehicle for a test drive having also noted that the service history was not exactly clear to be a full-service history. I thanked hime for showing me the vehicle. I returned home and considered my options, still keen on the make of vehicle I messaged the salesman in Brackenfell highlighting that the corrosion was putting me off and would maybe consider if there was a price reduction, (about 2%) noting that I would be in for 2 new tyres to get it through roadworthy, by this stage I was ignoring the little voice in my head telling me that I am developing an attachement to the vehicle that is going to cost me another R20k after roadworthy. The saleman said he would speak to his manager, thankfully he was not able to convince his manager and returned his managers decision that the price remains fixed. I noted that the vehicle is still listed on their website, so is the one in Epping but the price has been reduced. I am hoping this helps raise awarenss for prospective buyers. I just want people to ensure they go in with an open mind, to not get caught up in the excitement of a new (used) car, to check the reports, challenge them, take someone along that knows cars. I learnt from this experience that if I added the price of the vehicle, the cost of the tyres and roadworthy and panel shop to sort out the corrosion issues I could go to a reputable dealer to purchase the last year of that vehicle (2020) with lower mileage and a fully traceable dealer service history and provide the vehicle on the road registered in my name.
When a *****ulent activity was reported regarding the *****ster claiming Investec as their bank. Invested was prompt to react on my issue that I posted on Hello Peter
I would like to share an unpleasant experience I have had with a person paying for goods making an EFT via their Investec Banking account. I received an sms fairly promptly and a documented POP anticipating that the funds would reflect in my account. This was not to be, unfortunately I had allowed the person to remove the goods. Having not received the funds I followed up with the purchaser, he claimed he erred in not selecting immediate clearance and the payment would therefore not reflect in my account for 48 hours. I have since asked the purchaser to return the goods until the funds reflect in my account. The final outcome could well be that I have been ****med. I felt it pertinent to share this as I would be very weary dealing with anyone claiming to bank with Investec Bank. I have received / transacted with all the other major banks without any problems.
