The City of Ekurhuleni is very quick to disconnect your electricity if you are short by even R1 on your account, but when residents actually need service delivery, there is absolutely no response. We first logged a complaint on 5 May 2026 regarding a lamp pole that is falling over and hanging onto power lines. Since then, over 20 service calls have been logged, and even our area head has been contacted — yet nothing has been done. This is a serious safety risk. If this pole falls, it can: Damage private property Destroy boundary walls Block access roads to the area Potentially cause severe injury or even death The big question is: if someone gets injured or killed, or if private property is damaged, will the City take accountability? Or will residents once again be left to deal with the consequences alone? How many complaints need to be made before action is taken?
Dear Takealot. If I could I would give 0-star rating. I have never had such a pathetic service in my life. I order and our company supply goods to Takealot a frequently. I recently placed an order for 2 Samsungs on the 6th of October 2022 the order arrived on the 10th of October 2022 instead of the 2 Samsung I received Tabasco sauce - I am not joking an R360 bottle of sauce - instead of 2 Samsungs worth R6000. I Phoned the collection point on the same day to log a return as I received the wrong goods. They stated it would take 5 to 7 working days to Evaluate this issue, in order to prevent it from happening again and dispatch the correct the goods. I didn't receive any news on when they will collect the order so I had to call the centre again on 14 October 2022. They said they would dispatch the diver the same day but didn't collect it. I then received a message on the 17th of October 2022 stating that they were going to collect the devices but I was unfortunately not at the location. I contacted the call centre again where I asked if I could change the collection point to a different location. They stated that I was unable to change the returns collection point and said if I need to change the location I would need to log a new return which I find is ****** stupid as it was just a location. I told them to leave the location as is and collect from the office on the 20th of October 2022. After collection, they then said they were going to deliver the stock on Wednesday, but they were unable they only delivered on Friday, 28 October 2022. When I opened the Box, guess what, Wrong Again!!!!!!! I received 2 USB Rechargeable 24 LED Night Lights instead of 2 Samsung phones. I have gotten to a point that the reason I bought the devices was to run a project. Now the project is nearly a month late and once again I need to go through the return process which takes 2 weeks if you’re lucky. I understand that occasionally an issue might occur, but consecutively, is unacceptable. There is a process at the DC that is not working. As A company that supplies to Takealot, this brings up more issues that this would happen to our own stock.
