I have still not received communication from a technician nor have we had any resolution to our protracted issues and repeated service requests with our in warranty DDW240 dishwasher. Our service requests have been "escalated" twice since we first logged a report on 27 January, and our third service request is still awaiting the technician's response or communication despite repeated escalations and followups with Defy. It has been 8 working days since we were allocated our third job number (16654866), which is not only a whole week longer than Defy's "turnaround time" (as per their service centre), but more importantly, it is the third service request for this unit alone. But there still seems to be very little urgency to repair or replace this unusable dishwasher. The technician has yet to respond or communicate, despite our followups to Defy and escalations from Defy service representatives. Moreover, it has been over 6 weeks (a month and a half) since we first reported the problems. But most significantly, the dishwasher has already been inspected and "repaired" by a technician twice (Job numbers 16612976 and 16640528). The unit has already had both its motor and its PC board replaced, and yet it is still not working. As such, we are not sure why we are being made to wait for an unresponsive technician to come a third time. He knows what the problems are and he has not fixed them, despite two previous attempts. At what point does Defy accept that they have a defective unit that is still under warranty? We have paid for a working Defy appliance, which Defy's website notes as having "unparalleled performance and reliability". But we have not had this Defy reliability nor any "performance" since 27 January (despite two inspections, two repairs and three service requests). To be clear, after the extended delays and ineffective attempts at repairs, we would appreciate this matter receiving your urgent attention and a direct response to the question of how do we replace this clearly defective unit?
Please do not use this company if you value integrity, professionalism and service. The owner is very quick to take your deposit but we are now three months later and the job has barely started - just two concrete bases, but poorly set and in the wrong place. The owner has offered a litany of excuses and I have been very patient, but after his most recent promise to be on site and then no-showing with no communication, he is further ignoring all calls and messages and has subsequently taken down his facebook business page. Read into that what you will but it noteworthy that the page had a flurry of scathing reviews of other clients who suffered the same scam-like behaviour. In short, there is a clear pattern of unethical and unprofessional behaviour of taking a substantial deposit and then ghosting the client after multiple delays and claimed excuses. Do not use.
Please do not use this company if you value integrity, professionalism and workmanship. Exceptionally poor installation of carpets with holes and gaps. But more specifically, when asked to return to repair, we received the most unprofessional, patronising and insulting responses that avoided any responsibility on their part. We were insulted as clients and received 10 minute voice notes that laid the blame everywhere but with their workmanship, even going as far as saying we should just be grateful because they are cheap. When we responded with legal options, they eventually sent an installer out (a month later) who confirmed that the carpet would have to be replaced (their OWN installer confirmed this). Yet, management's response was one that attacked us for speaking to their installers and their offer to replace required us to make additional payment for the replacement carpet and installation (we would have to pay to fix their mistake). Every reasonable attempt to engage with them has been met with insult and delay and deceit. As a final example of their dismissive attitude to client service and responsibility, their response to our detailed efforts to communicate the situation was, "this is too much to read".
