Absa Bank's practices have been quite disappointing, to say the least. My grandmother held a transaction account with them, which included a R5,000 lump sum cover. However, upon her passing this year, when we filed a claim, it was rejected. According to the bank, she app**** in 2013, but the coverage only commenced in 2022. I also hold a golden cheque account with a R20,000 lump sum coverage, but I'm concerned that I may encounter a similar issue in the future. I urge fellow loyal customers to exercise caution with this institution. It was disheartening to learn that the bank misrepresented information when my grandmother opened her account. They now claim that the coverage was not part of the terms and conditions she agreed to back then. However, it is worth noting that such benefits are often not explicitly stated in the terms and conditions at the time of signing. It's unfortunate that we have had this experience, and it raises concerns about the bank’s transparency and commitment to fulfilling promises.
I'm deeply disappointed with ABSA bank. When we decided to open a transact savings account for my grandmother, one of the main reasons was the promised R5000 lump sum death benefit. However, when the unfortunate time came and we provided all the necessary documentation, we received a response stating there was no lump sum death benefit associated with the account. It's disheartening to experience empty promises, especially during such a sensitive time. I expected better from ABSA.
Our encounter with Outeniqua Solar, endorsed by FOGI, has been nothing short of exasperating. Shortly after they installed our geyser, the accompanying solar panel malfunctioned just a day later, jeopardizing the entire solar system and causing our pump to malfunction. Even more astonishing, after reporting the pump issue, they audaciously requested an additional R500 fee, as per FOGI's guidance, despite our previous excess payment. Shockingly, their negligence did not end there. We discovered they had left their waste, including food packets, in our ceiling. And despite all our efforts in repairs, we were met with another challenge - a leaking stop **** they had installed. It became evident that they had fitted a faulty piece. Our concerns intensified when, despite our urgent situation of having a newborn without water at home, we were casually advised by Cindy to "take it up with our insurance." This led to a second claim merely to rectify their flawed installation. The real surprise was when we, unfortunately, had to engage them again after our geyser malfunctioned for the second time within a couple of years. Though they initiated the replacement, they left the job incomplete. Months of attempting to reach them yielded no results. Astonishingly, they've now lodged ANOTHER claim with the geyser provider, essentially to rectify their own incomplete work from the initial claim. It's deeply unsettling to witness such practices. It raises questions about their integrity and suggests an exploitative approach to business. Future customers, tread cautiously.

Disgusting service! They delivered a bottle with the name Ethan on it to my husband on our 6 year wedding anniversary , while I ordered something else for my husband that is not ETHAN!!!! When I asked for a refund they told me that I will be refunded the next day. When I asked for a reference number the call centre agent hung up. When I phoned again another agent told me that the courier will first collect Ethan's bottle, then inspect the item, then issue a gift voucher. I dont want a gift voucher. I want my money back like in today. Order no. 106 147 600. Pathetic service!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! I emailed them, I Facebooked them.... just a generic answer that they will collect and INSPECT.
This guy Hendrik Schutte and his team were suppose to build us a garage and renovate our old garage into a study. He took a WHOLE YEAR for a project he said would take 2 months. Then he asked for more money, which we gave. He left us without finishing the job. The new building is full of cracks, the roof leaks and our bath room floor is also not sealed. The electricity and plumbing is also a nightmare. He operates in Oudtshoorn, George and Herold. STAY AWAY
