Mogadi Sello was very helpful towards my enquiry. I thank her for assisting me
In 2018 February registered myself to do Electrical Engineering course with Intec, and everything went well as I followed all the procedures for me to get registered until I received my study material on a USB. It happened that the USB was not encrypted and I could not find some of the study material for other modules of which I was told to be on the USB. I started panicking as I was worried that how am I going to complete other assignments and study for exams while I do not have study material. I thought of calling the consultant who was helping me to assist me and she refereed me to write email to support system. They told me that they sent all my study material and told me to email the modules which I was missing on my study material which I did but the they could not help me regarding my study material. So I called the college and I was told to send back that USB but I was afraid that what if I send it back and they could not returned it on time and I won't be able to finish my assignments on time or be able to write my exams. I started to get tired of the calls and emails that I was writing the college without getting any help, I then decided to think of cancelling my course with them but instead I started speaking with their Client Liaison Officer, Charne Swartz as she was the one handling my cancellation. Later on she convinced me to to transfer the course I was doing then I thought so because I did not wanted to pay for nothing. Weeks past without hearing from the college about my transfer of the course. I wrote back to the college specifically the C.L.O after writing that email she then called and pretended to help me but at that time I had already lost an interest to study with such college, and what I realised is that the college is only interested on their student's MONEY. I went on and contacted the very same C.L.O via email to ask her what should I do to cancel my course with intec she helped me with everything which I followed all the steps to cancel the course that I registered with them. I was told to wait for the cancellation committee to review my case and by that time they were still deducting from my account while I was not using their services. I then received email from the cancellation committee telling me that I should PAY 80% of the cancellation fee and the cancellation amount at that time which I had to pay was closed to R22 000, I recalled the consulted that was helping me sent me email of all the cost as well as the total course fee in cash was R18 015. I asked how possible is that a cancellation fee can be 80%? They kept on deducting from my account up till March 2019 and I went angry and thought that why should I keep paying for something which I am not using and stoped paying. Today I am stuck with the debt of which I do not know why should I pay for it if I paid my registration of R3 500 and left the college to keep on deducting my account thinking I was paying for that cancellation fee only to find out my account was deducted for nothing. Now they are threatening to take my name to the Credit Bureau to blacklist me, so I am asking why should I pay for a cancellation fee as almost R8 000 was deducted on my account from March 2018 - March 2019.
Last year February 2018 I developed an interest and did enquiries with Intec college to further my studies, I then registered with the college and registered a course, National Diploma: Electrical Engineering. After I have finished with the process of registering with them they told me that I must wait for 21 days to get my study materials. I received my study material after those days and it happened that the USB that contained my study material was not encrypted and did not include some of the study guides. I called several departments and exchanged emails. I was told by my Tutor on who to call or to inform about my problem, in order for me to get assistance, it happened that the college could not assist me, and concluded with myself that I am going to cancel furthering my studies with the them. I followed all the process to cancel my contract with the college, we exchanged emails with cancellation department and they concluded that I have to pay a cancellation fee of 80% (R18 985.60) of the original cost, of which the original cost when I did enquiries with the consultant and sent me email of what is needed and all the amount needed for me to be accepted by the college. An amount of R18 015.00 was my total course fee for but I only knew when I was cancelling my course that the original cost of the course fee was R23 732.00, and I am liable to pay that amount. Today I called asking for the principal asking them to tell me how do they calculate their cancellation fee and the person who was helping me advised me to send email to you. Can you please help me regarding this matter because it’s been long now dealing with this case. Thank you hope to hear from you.
