On Saturday morning the 16th of May we stopped at the Pepper Tree Coffee shop in Philadelphia, Western Cape for a cup of coffee and a light breakfast. We ordered Roosterkoek which is normally served with butter, jam and cheese. The Roosterkoek was not your traditional crispy baked on the coals type that we are used to, but rather a factory bought version with no taste and was under and not baked through. Apart from this we were charged and exorbitant amount for a roosterkoek (R65) and then had to pay extra for the butter (R40) Jam (R40) and Cheese (R40), making this a new world record for the price of a Roosterkoek, which normally sells with all the fillings for R60. I was astounded at this price, and point out that these extra costs are not mentioned on the menu. It is always good to support coffee shops in the country side, but to be ********** like this is, is not a pleasure. Beware people, these are ************ business owners that are charging ridiculous amounts for a simple Roosterkoek meal. Service was slow and the meal arrived before the Coffee we ordered. To this Coffee shop we will never return, but then I dont expect them to be open much longer as they are ripping people Off.
We recently moved into a newly built house on the Mount Royal Estate in Malmesbury, Western Cape. From day one we experienced a lot of faults with the sliding doors that HVS Aluminium installed. For example, wind blows into the house ever though the doors are securely closed and the the sliding doors tap constantly. We complained to the building contractor and HVS Aluminium then came out to repair the faults, but could not do so as they apparently did not have the correct tools for the job and promised to return the next day. This never occurred and two weeks passed without us hearing from them. This morning I spoke to the owner of HVS Aluminium who seems to lack any tact and was told that they would come out to the house when it suited them, probably next week. I was irate and demanded action as we cannot sleep in the main bedroom due to there shoddy workmanship. I would strongly suggest that people evade this company as there service and workmanship is far below standard.Poort
We took our Fiat Fiorini panel van for it's 60 000km service to Reeds in Bellville, Cape Town on the 13th of March 2024. The vehicle is still under warranty and has a service plan. Management (Jacques Rudman) of the branch informed us that we needed to pay for the service, which is normally covered by the service plan before they would release the vehicle. This amounted to R7233.42. We had no alternative but to pay as they would not release the vehicle to us. I tried calling the branch, which unfortunately it is almost impossible to get through as they work through a call centre in Pretoria and your calls are never answered at the Bellville branch. After 10 attempts I eventually got through to the branch only to be told by Mr Rudman that because the vehicle first service was late, (30000KM) we must now pay for this service. My reaction was that the book says the vehicle must be serviced at 60000 km so how else should we do this. Mr Rudman was not helpful at all, and we got the idea that he was malicious in his actions and treated us very poorly and without respect. His explanations why the we must pay for the service of a vehicle which is still under a service plan is far fetched and beyond any understanding. I am very upset by this and Reeds has been grossly unfair to us. After much discussion Mr Rudman said he would consider the matter and come back to us, this never occurred and it is plain to see that he his customer service ideals are way below average. Apart from this, we reported certain items that needed to be fixed on the fiat, and to our dismay this was never done, even though we were charged for the labour and parts. I would strongly suggest that business people and the general public, not to buy any vehicles from Reeds as their service is poor and dishonest.
If I could give lower rating than 1 Star I would. This company is run by Mrs Carol Dreyer. She is by far the most devious person I have ever dealt with. Her company was employed to do editorials and other promotional work, but unfortunately the standard of their work is far below par and in actual fact Mrs Dreyer is exceptionally good at overcharging for little done. I would suggest that all companies steer clear of this woman and her company, she is bad news.
