I am appalled and angered at the misleading approach that WesBank has taken to **** me (and I am certain many other customers too) into adding unsolicited and unauthorised insurance products onto my account. I have submitted numerous insurance schedules and letters from my insurer proving that my financed vehicle is comprehensively insured by Hollard and that WesBank’s interest is duly noted. These have all been rejected without valid reason. Letters and emails available on request. The result, I now have come to realise, is the addition of temporary insurance underwritten by Direct Axis to my account, without my consent! The first red flag was when I received a phone call on 7th March 2024 requesting me to authorize a debicheck mandate, 7 months after taking delivery of the vehicle! The second red flag was the rejection of all bone fide insurance documents to prove comprehensive cover. The third red flag is the contact number for Insurance Confirmation at WesBank (0861 288 272) does not get answered – go figure! I remained on hold for over 1 hour 24 minutes without speaking to a consultant to resolve the matter. Go ahead try call the number, I dare you. This is a deliberate and calculated tactic to get unsuspecting customers to unknowingly add products to their account without their authorization. This tactic is reprehensible and will be referred to both the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance as well the FAIS Ombudsman. I am appalled that Wesbank, and their affiliate Direct Axis would allow such a dishonest business practice. In a time when trust in this country is at an all-time low, one would expect a major financial institution to step up and act in good faith and in the interest of the customers who part with hard earned money to support their business. WesBank shame on you!
The ABSOLUTE WORST insurer in SA by a long way!!! Whatever you do, DO NOT insure with Discovery Insure. A minor bumper bashing claim took 4 months to resolve and repair because of how badly the claim was managed. Storm damage as a result of a heavy storm was rejected before the assessor had even done the assessment. Matter has been referred to the Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance. Discovery's default is to reject any claim and only change the decision if the client raises a dispute. Worst claim management, worst customer care, worst service I have ever experienced from any organisation to whom I pay an enormous amount every month. Thank you Discovery Insure for reinforcing my decision to change insurer. You will never see my business again.
Absolute worst insurance company I have ever insured with. *********** claims management that resulted in a minor bumper bashing claim taking over 4 months to resolve. Resultant building damage after a heavy storm rejected because of "wear and tear" and "lack of maintenance" - which could not be substantiated. Anyone and everyone i have spoken to about this since has confirmed what a circus Discovery Insure is and how the automatic default is to reject every claim. I am not prepared to beg an insurer to deliver the service that i pay high premiums for.
Dealt with Shafick Allow on an urgent request for insurance on a new vehicle. He managed to reinstate my insurance cover, changed vehicle cover, updated household content cover, all within 40 minutes. He went out of his way to ensure that he retained my business. Five Star treatment, we need more people like Shafick in the service industry.
Eastpoint Shopping Centre parking has been an absolute nightmare since it re-opened after the revamp. Pay stations are often out-of-order (like today) and the ones that do take your cash never give change. 3 different patrons all paid this morning at 9:11am. all paid the R6 parking with R10 and none received change!! Parking attendant never came after numerous calls to the parking office. Called Centre Management offices and no one was available to assist. in addition to the ridiculous parking rates, they are chasing their customers away by stealing from them. No wonder so many stores have closed and there so many empty shops. Eastpoint you have lost me as a customer, on principle I will not support people who steal from me, however small the amount.
<p>Our company uses Elite Car Park Sevices when ever we travel from OR Tambo Airport. I left my car with them on Sunday 26th February 2017 and collected it the following evening. I later realised my spare wheel has been removed from my bakkie and called them immediately to find out where my car was parked, if there was CCTV in the area and to resolve the matter by getting my spare wheel replaced. Since then I have emailed, and called numerous times without any response. The owner/management of this business do not care and do not have the capacity to deal with a customer complaint. it is disgusting the manner in which they treat their customers, especially if there is complaint. If you want your car and belongings back in one piece, dont use Elite Car Park Service. Very sad when you entrust a car to company for safe keeping and they steal from you. Dont support theiving companies in SA!! </p>
