When we arrived at ***alle the service started off great. The waiter brought for us soup and was quick with our order. Unfortunately the soup was cold and bread was hard. I didn’t even eat it We ordered a honey cake to share which was extremely dry. When we were ready to pay, we asked for the bill and waited over 10min for someone to bring it to us. We were annoyed at this point and just wanted to leave. The restaurant was empty so there’s no excuse. For a restaurant that deems to prestige they aren’t all that great.

Title: ****roach in Coffee & Fly in Drink – No Response from ***alle Management On 25 July 2025 at ***alle Restaurant, 57A Somerset Road, Green Point, I was served a coffee containing a ****roach, which I had already partially consumed before noticing. Shockingly, my son also found a fly in his drink right at the start of our meal. We immediately informed the staff, but their response was dismissive, and no action was taken to investigate or resolve the matter. My husband has since contacted the restaurant directly and sent three follow-up emails to management, but we have received no response from management. This is not only unacceptable but also a serious public health concern. The complete lack of accountability and customer care is appalling. I am lodging this review to warn other customers and to call on ***alle to take responsibility, issue a formal apology, and demonstrate that they are taking corrective action to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Unfortunately, ***alle have had their Website cloned and the website that comes up on google where you can make a reservation asks for payment of a deposit to make the booking. My husband unfortunately fell for the ****, silly him. I am rating here so that hopefully it saves someone, I hope they have Google resolve this soon. I am also posting here because unfortunately when we contacted ***alle they had a nonsense attitude with us, yes we were idiots and got ****med but we didn't deserve the "we don't care attitude", have some EI guys.

***alle really disappointed second time round. After visiting the first time 20+ years ago, it has certainly lost its plushy ambience. Our waitress was extremely unbothered and unprofessional, not deserving of a tip at the end of the evening. Guests were dressed as if they were at a local steak house. The sound system was awful and the music and dance floor evolved into a 90's club. I understood at the end of the night the dim lighting. Those gorgeous chandeliers that I admired so much, are filthy and so are those red carpets! Come on... spruce things up a bit and up your standard.

My daughters matric ball was at ***alles in Green Point Cape town. The waiters cleared their plates from.the table while they were on the dance floor, moat of the kids did nit finish their food, but their plates wete taken away. They did not complain as the waiters were not very friendly. A friend of mine hosted her mums 70th birthday at ***alles too, and the same thing happened, their plates wrre cleared before they finished their food. Do not leave the table if you are not finished eating, otherwise you'll have no food

My daughters matric ball was at ***alles in Green Point Cape town. I have been frequenting this restaurant for over a decade. It is disappointing to hence see how their level of service and quality of food has been declining over the years. On my last visit the desert was uncooked and I was told at lunch that the bread was still being baked. I had to also endure the kitchen staff creating a spectacle when a fight broke out between them. Yet the manager couldn’t be bothered, all out blaming our expectations as the problem - the uncooked crème brûlée which was runny was, in his words, “too runny for me”. Crème brûlée is never runny. When I voiced my concerns at the decline of standard he all out told me that he doesn’t care if I return to their restaurant or not. So choose wisely - is this someone you want to give your money to. Especially when the food isn’t even great anymore.
