Peugeot Citroen South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Peugeot Citroen South Africa is facing significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly around vehicle reliability and after-sales support. Customers consistently mention recurring mechanical faults on models such as the 2008, 3008 and Landtrek, including engine, suspension and electrical failures on relatively new vehicles. A recurring theme is prolonged waits for parts, with incorrect part orders and poor communication from dealerships. Owners also raise concerns about warranty disputes, lack of loan vehicles, and limited accountability from both dealerships and the manufacturer. Some appreciation is noted for new model introductions and individual staff effort.

I bought a brand new Peugeot 2008 1.2T A/T in 2022, but the vehicle started giving problems when it was only 2 months old. Since then, it has been in and out of the dealership almost every year for serious repairs and breakdowns, sometimes multiple times a year excluding routine servicing. The vehicle has already undergone major repairs, including an engine replacement, yet I continue to experience further mechanical issues and breakdowns. At this point, the car has spent more time at the dealership than with me as the owner. The expenditure on repairs over time is now close to, or may even exceed, the value of the vehicle itself. A brand new vehicle should not leave customers stranded every year. The stress, inconvenience, uncer*****y and loss of confidence in the vehicle have been unbearable. I believe Peugeot South Africa needs to take accountability for what has become an ongoing and recurring defect issue.

I paid for parts at Williams Hunt Fourways for my Peugeot 3008, promised 3-5 ETA which was not met but rather received an SMS to bring the car for booking which I assumed the part has arrived after speaking to Karin. I brought the car in the next morning to my surprise I was told the part hasn't arrived but opted to leave the car and for the dealer principal to call me which never happen. Today is day 6 Karin called with no ownership other than the part is not there, did not apologize for the inconvenience or committed to resolution on Monday as the parts manager must guide, terrible experience I own a 3008 and 2008 and with the dealer not fully replacing service parts at last interval and not disclosing I am considering walking away from the brand. I would not recommend this dealership as the service department is ***********.

Most unreliable, unsafe, falsely advertised and marketed bakkie ive ever bough: 3 companies involved here, thus will write this review to all 3: namely Westvaal Motor Group Rustenburg, Stellantis, Peugeot George. I Purchased on 29 Aug 2025 through dealership financing a brand new facelift Peugeot Landtrek AT 4x4 double cab from this dealership in Rustenburg. VIN:VR3FDAHDYS3025854; Engine: 55Z0000277 From 2500km we have encountered MULTIPLE breakdowns and issues on this vehicle for which i will provide the lists of emails, what's ups, telephone calls between myself, Adriaan (after sales George), Innocent and his supervisors at STELLANTIS(warranty division) and Hannes (salesman) Jannie Stroh(Dealer Principle) from Westvaal Rustenburg I reside in George Western Cape thus take my vehicle to Peugeot George for assistance. Adriaan is the ONLY person trying to assist with this matter but believe he is NOT getting the support from Peugeot SA, Westvaal, Stellantis. Here are the shocking issues with the vehicle: 1)Total rear suspension failure- cant load more than 300kg then knocks through, thus not as per dealer spec sheet 1020kg-1050kg. This renders this vehicle TOTALLY ineffective and inadequate to use on the farm for which i purchased it. Vehicle totally unstable on road, especially gravel roads, vehicle drifts and feels like its going to overturn. 2) rear shock failure 3)front suspension failure knocking through- new issue 4)tail gate latch faulty, cant open or close 5)total electronic shutdown and failure while driving- 3 times now 6)fuel range incorrect calibration and display, vehicle cuts out between 100km and 83km left on display. 2 incidents of my wife and children stranded next to road side. required to call out breakdown services to jumpstart vehicle and reset engine light display. 7)poor braking capability, seems to be same in rest of fleet 8)center display flashing and flickering or dies while driving 9)driver side wiper not removing water off windshield 10)keys and locking issues initially I work outside of SA thus purchased a brand new vehicle to ensure peace of mind, reliability and functionality with my family. This is not the case, as all three these companies have accepted in their poor attempt, delay tactics, negating from responsibilities, put my family in grave danger, discomfort, stranded alongside the road (wife and daughters-THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE). The vehicle totally cutting out in the Outeniqua mountain pass- TOTALLY UNACCEPTALBE. I refuse to accept the liability place on us as the customer. I have requested multiple times for Peugeot to please refund me my money, settle the financing and take the vehicle back into their stock whereby they have time to fix it and not constantly place this inconvenience on me. The excuse is they must first see if its not fixable before making that decision but have NOT ONCE provided me with any alternative vehicle to continue with my business every time there is an issue and tests or repairs must be done. This i have been requesting all along with empty promises and excuses not to take back this DUD they force me to use it as I'm destitute without a vehicle required daily. This is another delay tactic to allow the vehicle to run past the demo kilometers of 12500km then they cant just take it back onto floor. To this day i have NOT received a report on the condition of the repairs, the ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS conducted for these factory faults and how they will be fixed and prevented to happen again. I am utterly fed-up with the support and quality of this brand Peugeot and implore all forums and platforms within the motor vehicle industry, social media, news to make use of this factual evidence to think wisely before every considering purchasing endless problems and putting their own and other families on the roads in danger. I always ask the other persons to put themselves in my shoes and what would they accept and tolerate. My aim here is only to return the defective vehicle, get a refund and move on with my journey with a reliable working vehicle. This has been a ongoing request for 6 months now. Another delay tactic to exceed the return period if one is not satisfied with the finance or sale agreement. Welcome to call me to discuss and interview me on facts. 0828265400 Regards Quinton Chuter

I am extremely disappointed with the ongoing treatment I have received from Williams Hunt Midrand. I bought my Peugeot 2008 GT, 2022 model, brand new, and within 2 months of purchase, it already started giving me problems. Since then, every year I am forced to return the vehicle to their dealership, not for routine servicing, but for repairs due to the same recurring mechanical faults. I am currently stranded with no mobility, and Williams Hunt still refuses to assist me. They informed me that to get a loan car, I must pay R2,500, which I simply do not have. If I had been sold a non-defective vehicle, I would not be going through this ongoing trauma, stress, and frustration. Despite the vehicle being under warranty and despite the long history of repeated issues, I am paying for a car that I cannot use at all, including my monthly installment, insurance, and tracker fees. Since the car was taken to their dealership on 24 November 2025, I have received no communication or update. I only received one update on 25 November, and then complete silence. I eventually had to go there in person just to find out what was happening, something that should never be necessary when my only vehicle is in their workshop. This experience has now reached a point where I am starting to develop hatred for the Peugeot brand, purely because of the poor service and lack of accountability from Williams Hunt Midrand. I am spending a fortune on Uber rides because Williams Hunt refuses to provide proper support, Mobility assistance, or accountability. Their lack of communication and failure to fix the same problem year after year shows complete disregard for customers. I urgently request intervention and a full resolution.

I am very disappointed with Peugeot service department Port Elizabeth, my car was service with major service in 2024, in July 2025 they made minor service which was my last service from original service, i bought warranty with traffic when i was buying my car. On sunday my car gave me engine faulty warning and traffic took my vehicle to Peugeot and they said its spark plugs that are faulty, but what i know the spark plug have guarantee of 30 000 km or more but to my surprise they want me to pay R5000 because the supplier where they bought the spark plugs is refusing to take responsibility and change spark plug because my vehicle does not have original warranty i have extended warranty and my service plan that came out with my car expired, i have only traveled 15 000km instead of 30 000km. I think they didn't change spark plus when they were doing major service or they use **** plugs not original parts. They dont even update me i must call them I regret the day i took a decision to buy Peugeot vehicle

Gutted to hear that an extra few hundred kms on my Landtrek means I need to pay for the service from my own pocket. The car is brand new, was due for 2500km service and I only had time to take it in this morning at 3000km. Very disappointed with this level of service from Peugeot. I do not see myself recommending a Peugeot to anyone.

Like so many other people here I have been waiting 3 months and counting for a part to arrive. The dealership ordered a part, it took 2 months to arrive. Turns out it was the wrong part. Now I have to wait another 2 months for the correct part to order.
