International Client been trying to pay my company over the past week. I logged an email with Paygate, then called them....They are aware of the glitch and will now enable my account to receive payments. WTAF. Unsatisfactory explanation given and it's clear they don't give a damn.

This was one of the most shocking customer service experiences I have had in while. I am working on a client's online store and they once had a PayFast now PayGate account for their business which was deactivated due to inactivity. I went to the portal submitted all the documents they required for verification. 14 days later and many follow emails they have not responded, the only email received was from someone forwarding the email to an email that was already copied in my previous email and then zero. I have an impression that these guys had their shi*t together but I have learnt something totally different. I do not recommend them at all, stay away. imagine having to wait this long when you have a serious transaction issue that you need help with. let check PeachPayments or Yoco or Shopify

I am working on a client's online store and they once had a PayFast now PayGate account for their business which was deactivated due to inactivity. I went to the portal submitted all the documents they required for verification. 14 days later and many follow emails they have not responded, the only email received was from someone forwarding the email to an email that was already copied in my previous email and then zero. I have an impression that these guys had their shi*t together but I have learnt something totally different. I do not recommend them at all, stay away. imagine having to wait this long when you have a serious transaction issue that you need help with. let check PeachPayments or Yoco or Shopify

I question if any of the payment platforms can add any real value – to merchants, but not to you MR customer? In my opinion they make it possible for **** sites to exist and makes it so much more difficult for a consumer to find a remedy when a problem arises with a supplier. What happened with me recently (and I am sure similar events happens millions of times a month), was that I selected PayGate as an option to make a payment to OnlineCarparts.co.za. After the payment was completed the site crashed and the transaction did not complete on onlinecarparts website. I have now for 3 weeks tried to rectify the situation and PayGate (also indicated as payfast) just claims on their side the transaction is OK and cannot (Actually will not) do anything (I proposed they s**** onlinecarparts as a merchant because they obviously have serious problems they are unable to handle) – If I made the same appeal to Visa or Mastercard and onlinecarparts did not respond (as they did not respond to email, telephone calls and WhatsApp) then the credit card company has cover for that and will take onlinecarparts off the list as a valid merchants and I will get my money back. Therefore, I propose ONLY Use Visa/Mastercard options to make online payments and if a site does not have this option then already start considering them as a micky mouse site/**** or something bad – do not purchase from them.

Terrible experience using pay gate/pay fast. I made a mistake of clicking pay gate/pay fast instead of pay flex. I immediately contacted Lizzard to cancel the order and process the refund so I could order using the correct platform. They came back to say payfast/pay gate cannot locate my funds (getting this reply took ages as they weren't getting a response from payfast/pay gate). I then had to send proof thay the purchase actually went through and wasn't cancelled. They then located my funds and said they would process the refund. Still no word regarding my refund despite multiple emails on my behalf from Lizzard. This whole issue started on the 25th of Sept. My emails go unanswered, they don't pick up the phone, and you can't use the live chat to message them as that's for merchants only. Overall, disgusting customer service, 0/10 do not recommend.

I am very disappointed that Paygate is not concerned that one of their vendor (Sporespot.com) is using their service to de***** people. Paygate was not even interested in who the vendor was. They told me to report it to the police and that the police SHOULD contact them. Compared to Zapper who called me within a hour of sending them an email and stopped the vendor from using their service immediately.

Honestly if there were a lower rating, I'd opt for it. A one star rating for Paygate is one star too many. As a merchant, we have received despicable service. We have been patient and understanding since July 24th 2023, until today (13 Sep 2023). We still haven't been helped. We have been sent from pillar to post for almost two months and the issue still hasn't been resolved. All we receive is "The issue has been escalated", "we're working on a fix", "give us until the first week of September". We cannot get hold of the person that's supposed to help us (Adriaan - The team leader and manager). He has made endless empty promises, he assured us that they had fixed it a week ago, yet nothing has been done, the issue still persists. Now we can't get hold of him. He's either in meetings, unavailable, left for the day, on lunch or sick. We run a subscription service. We are unable to do transactions from our side (process or cancel payments). We have to ask Paygate to do it for us, which is a complete nightmare because we have to wait at least two days for it to be done. We have to s**** feed, if we don't constantly call or email, nothing gets done. We have lost time, revenue, and countless opportunities and they just don't seem to care. Our business has come to a complete halt. The staff at Paygate have proved to be ***********, unprofessional, unreliable and ************* as they don't stick to their word. They lack communication and customer service. In the past two months we have dealt with Adriaan Cronje, Phelisa Balfour, Ilyaas A, Connor Netherlands , who have all proved to be unreliable. The only saving grace at Paygate is Charne, although she's only a receptionist, she was the only understanding and apologetic employee. If you run a business and you're thinking about using Paygate, I don't recommend it. If you're the owner of Paygate, I'd take a look at your employees. They're tarnishing your businesses reputation.
