Emergency and you did not help
Thursday morning I called SPCA on there emergency number at 7am asking for assistance and one of the employees told me they can't assist me over the phone and when I did speak to someone who can help me they say they don't have a ambulance to come fetch my sick puppy I thought they cared about our animals because they have an emergency but I see truly SPCA will never have my support again because three days later they send someone to check up on my pup and he was already dead I was calling from 7am until 4pm asking for help. SPCA you are just a usless as the hospital our pets have to die before you check up on them and when you do have a vehicle they you want to put them down 👎I'm very upset and I will never trust SPCA

14 Apr 2026, 09:09We know losing a pet is painful and we are very sorry for the loss of yours. It is important to clarify the role of the SPCA. We do not operate an animal ambulance service because we do not have the resources to do so and because as a welfare organisation funded by public donations, our legal mandate is to investigate animal cruelty and neglect. This responsibility is governed by law and must be fulfilled or we will fail every animal suffering at the hands of cruelty and neglect. Getting a sick or injured pet to our on-site veterinary clinic or one of our mobile clinics is your responsibility as a pet owner. Every single day we see people who walk for kilometres to bring their pets to us for help. They carry them, push them in wheelbarrows, wheelie bins or shopping trolleys. They find a way to get their pet the help they need. When you called us about your desperately ill puppy, you were offered the option to surrender him/her for compassionate euthanasia. That option was there for you as a last resort, to prevent your puppy from suffering. The inspector who followed up did so because allowing a sick or injured animal to go without veterinary treatment is a ******** offence. That is the law the SPCA exists to uphold and this was our mandate in action.
