Panic button
I purchased the Mkwinkel panic button with the expectation that it would provide discreet and reliable personal security. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. A major concern is the SOS button functionality. When activated, the device initiates an audible phone call, which completely defeats the purpose of a panic button. In high-risk situations such as a hijacking or home invasion, discretion is critical. An audible call can alert attackers and potentially escalate danger rather than reduce it. Additionally, the GPS location accuracy is poor. On multiple occasions, the coordinates provided were significantly incorrect, which undermines the core value proposition of a panic device — rapid and accurate location tracking. The user interface and website experience are also problematic. The platform is unintuitive and poorly structured, making it difficult to manage settings or understand alerts clearly. For a security product, reliability and clarity are non-negotiable. Subsequent to this experience, I installed a tracking and panic solution through Fidelity ADT, which has proven to be far more accurate, discreet, and professionally supported. The difference in reliability and response capability is significant. Based on my experience, I would caution potential users to carefully evaluate alternatives before committing. In my view, there are better-value, more reliable security solutions available in the market.
